    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave.)

A new shave set up to start the weekend. It's been a while since i last used the Gillette London Bridge blade paired together with the Parker 24C was a good match. Smooth sharp, and efficient.

A wonderful performance from the Omega 49 boar brush...My re-found fondness for my humble boar brushes grows with each outing.

My cold-water shaves are starting to feel very brisk now that Autumn has arrived. I actually like this season, love the different colours of the falling leaves.

A close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing thew shave off with a few small squirts of Denim Original EdT to the pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

After today's shave, it appears I still have yet to master the art of brushless shaving. Course that doesn't include shaving with sophisticated goo. I refer to the jar of brushless shave cream Clubman has concocted. This is NOT goo, as barbers love it for their customers. I did a little better with it this morning, just using my right hand to dig in(same hand that receives the cannned sophisticated goo). It's easy to use either too much or too little. I thought I had a good amount, but now I don't think I did. Still I got a good enough shave at the cheeks&sideburns, as well as Porcupine Alley. Down at Cactus Nation, I think I could have done better than the result. I went too lightly over the Northern border(just under the jawline). Elsewhere was fine. Thus my focus for tomorrow will be North Cactus. The Clubman A.S. was a nice finish, as I expected. I think this shave cream is best used in the dead of winter, as my face now feels warm, even with the cold-water rinse. One pass was enough. Will go at this again tomorrow. Very Excellent.

Thank you, Joe. The Scottish Fine Classic Shaving Soap was the highlight of my shave this morning I intend to use it on a more regular basis its scent is very mild and vague, so it pairs together with any of my splashes. Its post shave feel is outstanding very like you get from MWF I put a tablespoon of tepid water on the puck leave it to bloom for a few minutes then with "damp near dry" brush I start mixing the lather for 30-40 seconds then add a small amount of water to the tips of the brush going back to the bowl keep mixing or lathering if I'm face lather adding more water to the tips of the brush until I get it to the constancy I prefer. I use this method with triple milled soaps. It works wonderfully with MWF which some people struggle with I for one couldn't get a good lather with it until I tried this method and found out hard soaps like a small blooming then a gradual small intake of liquid to bring it to life and volume. Enough said, enjoy your day my friend. Yours- Barry.

    Growth: Three day beard.

Prep: Warm shower: Stirling Sheep bar soap

Pre: Washed face with Stirling Glacial unscented pre-shave soap then reapplied before lathering.

    Brush: RV 25 mm STF

Lather : Razorock XXX Italian shaving soap

    Blade: Gillette Nacet (D1)

    Razor: Yates 921
    Base Plate: Hybrid OC/SB
    Handle: Razorock Haloed UFO

Post: unscented Stirling witch hazel and PAA Mysterium Serum

This was my first shave with the hybrid plate and it has been more than a month and a half since I have shaved with the Yates 921 so the shave was a not the best.
I shaved one side of my face with the OC side of the base plate and used the SB side for the other side of my face.
For the neck, I only did one pass WTG as I wanted the last bump to heal (from back to back shaves with a lot of blade exposure for at least one of them) before going back to two passes on the neck.

For the first pass, both sides were evenly shaved but the SB side of the mustache area had razor burn whereas the OC side did not. My guess is that with the added blade feel of the OC side, it was easier to find the correct angle for the shave.
Since it had been so long since I shaved with a SB plate with this razor, I probably did not use the right angle.

I did two passes for my face. Both plates each yielded two nicks (for a total of four nicks) in different areas.
The face was a BBS after two passes. The neck (since I only did one pass WTG) was a SAS.

The Nacet blade worked well with this plate.

I will have to experiment more with this hybrid plate to see how to use it effectively. I only used it since I had three day's growth. I probably would not use the OC side for a normal two-day shave.

I never have used triple-milled soaps, but I would probably bloom the soap and then wet the tips of my brush to get a proto lather and start facelathering. Of course, I would continue to hit the puck for more soap, and facelather until I get my lather to where it needs to be for me.

Great post and fine shave David. I may suggest doing a 2 week mini-focus with that razor sometime in the future. Have a good afternoon.
