    Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Mandarin & Lemongrass Extract Shower Gel.

Pre: Pears with Mint Extracts Transparent Bar Soap.
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Brush: Yaqi 26mm Rainbow Brown Synthetic. (Faux Horse)
    Mug Lather.
    Lather: Williams Mug Shaving Soap.
    Blade: Gillette London Bridge. (D2)
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic.

    Post:
Cold water Face wash with brush squeezing's, / Alum Rub. / Cold Water Face Rinse. / Williams Aqua Velva ASL. (Spanish Version)/ L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

    Greetings,

    A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

It's been a while since i last the inexpensive Wilkinson Sword Classic which is always a pleasure to shave with.

The two-piece design of the razor makes it easy to load the blade, covering the full blade with no exposure of the blade edges, which is a brilliant safety feature especially for shaving sensitive areas without the risk of getting Cuts & nicks from the blade ends which was a great bonus for me when i first introduced myself to the wonderful world of traditional wet shaving.

The Blade gap is considerably smaller than the newer sibling the WS premium TTO model, but it still gives an acceptable presentable shave. Paired together with the Gillette London Bridge made a smooth efficient duo.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

I shaved today. I have found I prefer to shave DE every other day because it is like shaving off hairs.

I have to do regular cartridge shaving like when I airport travel, then I MUST shave everyday otherwise it is like using a cheese grater. I consider this reduction because ir is a grinding down process not really a clean slicing process.

I have lathering down to a science now finally after months. I can make the thickest, shiniest, slickest lather ever wirh a brush and tub of Paraso.

The one thing I am still fighting is that the de makes a couple of nicks every time. They are tiny and seal in maybe 60 seconds, but it is annoying. Is there a fix? I kind of suspect I am shaving too hard, but I love a good scraping because it feels great slicing through thousands of hairs leaving the smoothest shave.

This far my best blade choices have been Gillette Sharp Green and Gillette Platinum. Astra green are also very good. Derby Extra has been hit or miss with half feeling good and the other half being dull. Voskod are like 80% dull. My beard is very thick unlike my balding head.

If you were to remove my face and put it on a sander, it would be like 40 grit sandpaper probably able to sand plaster, wood, and drywall wirh ease. I think I like very sharp blades, but I am not 100% certain.

Regardless, I love the wet shave process because it feels great. Nothing like making a great warm lather.

What is my next suggestion to improve? Should I buy another razor by chance?

Nice classic shave Barry. I found Williams to be very slick, but it dissipated in my hard water. Now that it is discontinued, the asking prices on the remaining pucks are beyond absurd. Enjoy your Sunday.

When shaving I don't scrape my face because I let the weight of the razor do all the work on my WTG pass. In other words, very little pressure is used during my shave. Don't press down on your DE razor because it's unlike a cartridge razor where you have to do so. I would use your setup for the entire month (30 days) and you will see the difference in shaving with that razor.

Thanks Danny....Y'know, that was me lassoing the neck of that bully who was about to kill Billy Crystal's character in CITY SLICKERS....not Jack Palance. And if you believe that, I have a lovely ocean-front condo in Iowa to sell you.

Today's shave was a bit better than yesterday's but still some problems. I "dug in" to the jar tp get out more Clubman, which got things going all right, but I sooon learned that I needed more than I had the first time. Whereas yesterday I missed the northern border of Cactus Nation, I got it today, but could have done much better at North Porcupine Alley(where mustaches begin). Aaah, I'll save that area tomorrow as I return to regular wet shaving. Cheeks&sideburns came out fine again, which is good. . South Porcupine turned out better than North, but still not great. Clubman A.S. for the finish(again no cologne). I feel I still have to get used to negotiating this Clubman Classic Barber Cream jar. Very Excellent.

Thank you, Joe...The same can be said about the Palmolive Classic shave Stick noe that they are no longer available in the UK... Beyond absurd is putting it mildly.... the word 'Exploitation' comes to mind. If people are stupid enough to be sucked in by consumerism to pay these prices, then they must have more money than common sense. Each to their own choices i suppose. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend.

Here we are at another Lather Catcher Sunday! Theo was a bit upset with me because I left this morning for a couple hours to run to my little sister to give her some extra meat I had in my freezer. I had coffee and chatted for a while. He was not happy with daddy when I got home and so, he did not jump onto the counter. But, he did come to the bathroom and lay on the towels I put down outside the shower just to keep an eye one me!

    Razor - 1907 Ever-Ready "Lather Catcher"
Blade - GEM Persona SS (1)
    Soap - Castle Forbes "Lavender"
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
Brush - Simpson "Commodore" pure badger
Post-shave - Thayers Toner with witch hazel "Lavender" & Proraso Balm
    AS - Proraso

Another LOUD shave with the lather catcher. This is most definitely NOT a beginner's razor! It is very good at mowing down the whiskers. I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG. No cuts, nicks, or weepers. Alum bar was silent.

This is my favorite vintage single edge razor. I think the blade is a cheep knock-off though. It came with 2 blades and this is the second one. I may have to bin this one soon! This was only the second shave with it and it is already tugging! I got thru the shave without mishap. I will see how it does in my MMBT tomorrow.

    Overall, a very pleasant shave!

Terrific shave Hogie. I am surprised that a GEM SS SE Blade would start tugging on the 2nd use. You may be right that it is a knockoff.
