Nice setup and shave David. I recently learned that if you hold your swallow that you can flatten your Adam's apple and it makes it easier to shave that area. Fortunately, my Adam's apple is invisible so I don't have that problem. Enjoy your day.
PS, As I state in my monthly intros, it's OK to post your shaves without following the monthly theme.

Thanks David for the kind words. I stopped using the metal bowls because my lathers weren't that great and then I bought my ceramic bowl with bumps a few months back. Here's a picture of it with a prior shave setup: 20220705_215018.jpg

It was only when I did a monthly focus in July with the ceramic bowl that help me improve on bowl lathering.

fine shave David.i do the occasional cold water shave on hot days or when i've really over shaved on previous days.ie work shave in the morning, dinner date same evening then work again the next morning.,3 shaves in 24 hours can push it a bit.cold water to the rescue.works excellent.i do cold water rinses every shave and have for years.:):eatdrink047:

    good morning gents
    fabulous jeeves shave.
went the whole hog.. proraso red preshave with a hot facecloth
lovely face lather with the omega boar
smooth 2 passer across the grain with some minor buffing
    cold water rinse,alum,rinse again.
matching splash to finish with a healthy spritz of gentleman edt
    awesome.
using the preshave/hot cloth/alum is not a requirement
    but the results are nice.
proper face prep is Key to a great shave,no matter how you do it.

We didn't work much on the theory today but, he showed me the lead licks to a Doc Watson song that I now play (Walk on Boy). I want to be able to do those licks. We do go over the "CAGED" system going up the neck tho. I also played a song for him that I wrote. It is basic country blues. I call it "Jack Daniels Blues". He liked it enuff that he asked for a copy of the words. Basic E, E7, B7, and A7 chords. I do a lot of hammer-ons too. We will do it for the crowd at the senior center on Tuesday.

I also introduce a song called "White Liar". And we also tried another Doc Watson song called "Columbus Stockade Blues"

Fun day. I also got the garage re-arranged. Mower put away and I cleared a spot for the Harley when I finally do put it on it's lift and roll it to the back of the garage.

Time to clean up and shave!

Wonderful shave and setup Danny. I saw that brush and held it in my hand and I knew you would love it. It is a brush that is just different, but yet it's gorgeous.Have a great day.:)

    Fine shave with the Hawk.

Razor - Razorock Hawk v3 open comb
Blade - Feather ProGuard blade (5) I put the wrong blade pack out!
    Pre-shave - Proraso White
Soap - Ogalalla Bay Rum (bloomed)
Brush - Simpson T1 Trafalgar (smallest one)
Post-shave - Thayers Toner with witch hazel & Proraso balm
AS - Pinaud Virgin Islands Bay Rum

I took a quick shower after getting the garage all squared away. Warmed the scupper mug and brush. Pleasant shave with the ProGuard blade. Nice and close shave WTG & ATG. No cuts, nicks, or weepers! Alum bar was silent. I really like the smell of the Bay Rum soap and the Pinaud AS works well with it.

Now, to pick a cigar and go for a walk in my woods on this sunny and nice fall day.

Terrific Friday afternoon shave Hogie. I liked the Stirling Bay Rum, but it's not for everyone because it contains cloves. Have a nice, relaxing walk in the woods. Take care.
