Thanks Jaro. I would have done that eventually, putting on Thingiverse (as much of a challenge as it can be sometimes) killed two birds with one stone.
I agree that the way you did it "killed 2 birds with one stone".. I just wanted to mention the other to you (zip ) also because I didn't know if you were aware of that and I'm sure that it may help others knowing to do the zip thing... Thanks again....
I saw a post with a picture of an Art-Deco-style blade bank, and I found it so cool, I just had to give it a shot at recreating it. I designed it with a removable cover, and therefore, this blade bank can be reused. It can be 3d printed with FDM or SLA printers. The files can be downloaded from my Thingiverse page. GemTR v1 This is an SE Razor project I've been working on for a while. The head is a combination of two razors I designed a while back. Once complete, it will have a case with space for blade storage. The GemTR v1 will be my travel razor.
GemTR v1 The first shave with my new 3d printed SE Razor was fantastic. It still needs a few more tweaks, but so far, so good.
I've been asked several times to design a DE blade holder/dryer. Someone even posted a picture of one that can be purchased. Well, here's my version. It's a simple print-in-place case for DE blades. The case has a built-in hinge and snaps close with pressure tabs. The honeycomb design provides airflow which helps the blade dry faster if stored wet, or right after shaving. The blade is securely locked in place from the center, and the edges remain clear from contact even when the case is open. To store the blade, simply align the center hole with the retaining button, flex the end of the blade, and slide it in place. The files are available for download on my Thingiverse page. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5577751
Then I will continue to anxiously wait . I've printed the Raptor and the Triceratops and they are both fine razors!
Yet another project I've been meaning to get off my list. This will be a 3d printed razor stand that will hold eight straight razors and will have a base to spin on like a lazy-susan.
The files for the 3d printed straight razor stand are available for download on my Thingiverse page. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5599496
3D printed razors? Interesting. Can these really shave as good as SS CNC machined razors? Seems like achieving precise tolerances would be a challenge.
This AC razor design has been in the works for a long time. I 3d printed the handle for a gem version but I think it fits this AC design much better.
The cap is a separate piece, and it screws into the handle. It's hard to see the gap in the pictures but the blade locks the same way as the 3d printed injector.
