    Greetings,

    Early Morning Shave,

Finishing my shaving week off with a comfortable close shave.

Final outing of the Bolzano S.I. which has been the star performer of all my shaves throughout the week and has paired together with each razor.

I feel as though I could easily get another 2 shaves from these blades, but I'll put it into retirement as I have a vast amount of other DE blades to contend with.
The longevity & sharpness of them has really impressive throughout the week.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick-ups shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

The Brut duo was a great early morning tonic for my mature rhino skin.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Can you tell me a little about the scent of this soap, Joe? Does it have the typical "pencil shavings" aroma?
BTW, The Milton-Lloyd No. 10 is a fantastic stank.

Aaaand...a fine Throwback Thursday shave this morning, with Bill Neumann as the feature. In fact, it could have received the highest commentary, but it didn't, not because of Bill, but me. Good shave soap coverage to prep for the actul shave motion. Clean and clear all around with that Heartwood scent. I do think the time will come, though, when the soap will spill over the sides. I'll have to be careful, but that's the risk of a 4 lb hard soap with no breathing room at the top. 2 passes. No Knicks, Cuts, or Polka-dots. I should have done better on the right side of N. Porcupine, and the right side of N.Cactus(near Ingrown County). I'll focus on those areas tomorrow, I may have put on a little too much of the aftershave, will do a little less tomorrow. Super Duper Excellent. (Note-I signed up for the Neumann newsletter when I first spotted this classic shaving family-but they have not sent anything. An update or discount would be nice. Ahhh, I'll wait.)

Y'know, it's funny-all those barbershop soaps&aftershaves say "just like you left the barbershop", but it's tricky for me to equate the two.

Two pass shave this morning. Was ok but not as smooth as past few. Lather wasn’t as slick as usual so I messed up there.

I decided to bring out this razor because it been a long time since I used it. I refreshed it on my pasted strop, then linen and lather leather before the shave. Man, this blade was sharp and comfortable so that I was basically done after the first pass. Did the second pass to get BBS withoutany major incidents. The RR soap always performs well and the scent is clean and refreshing. Didn't get any alum feedback so that's definitely a nice feeling. Splashed on the wh and the AV and I am good to go. Take care.

That's a nice setup Ken. It could be 1 of 2 reasons or a combo of both.
You may have not had the right water/soap ratio. Stirling loves water and if it isn't properly hydrated, then the slickness is not as great. However, this is true of most soaps. Personally, I have never has a problem with any of the Stirling soaps performance.
Second, it could be that your edge needs to be refreshed. How do you refresh your edges?
