A short while ago my back gave out and I fell on my rear end. I had to finish making dinner, teriyaki pork stir fry, on a wheeled office chair. I'm pretty much in a good deal of pain, my old back injury making it worse. All I can do is just sit or lay down on the couch, using my GF as a gopher. I'll need a few days rest and get to those projects as soon as possible. I might even have to do my birthday shave tomorrow on the couch with a bowl of water and small mirror. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Though you don't have any projects of mine ....... feel better soon Jim. When I hurt my back, it usually takes about three weeks to get back to some what normal.
The pain that caused this is from nerve damage from a back injury at my last job. It would take a couple of weeks to get an OK from worker's comp. But my Doc wants a new MRI and hopefully it'll show the damage has increased.
Father, bless Jim with Your healing power. Restore his back that he will quickly come to have full strength, full range of motion, and no pain. All for Your glory in Jesus's name. Amen
Not yet, have an appointment next week. And since the pain that caused me to fall is from my back injury, this is going on Worker's Comp. An MRI will most likely happen.
@jimjo1031 I am sorry to hear about your pain. My first thought was a chiropractor, until I read of your previous injury. So see an MD and give yourself time to heal, rather than rushing things and doing further damage. Heal, Brother .
Just an update. Got back from my Orthopedic doctor. He gave me a steroid shot in my butt to see if it helps. If not, I think he said it'll be a three stage prescription of meds. Either way, I hope something helps. Some of this pain really is a pain in the ass.
Well, the shot in my rear end only helped for a few days. So I started doubling the muscle relaxers that I've been taking for years. I've collected a lot of them from not using all pills during the months. It makes me a bit drowsy, but the pain level has dropped. So it looks like I'll be back working on those projects pretty soon as I can move around better. Just have to work on them between times I feel that I have to relax and lie down.
For my original injury when I fell on my back at work, yes. I've been taking Lyrica and Tizanidine. I have to report to my Orthopedic doctor that the steroid shot didn't work. At the exam he mentioned that if it didn't, he mentioned something about a three stage prescription program. So I'm sure that's what's going to happen. Plus I have an MRI scheduled.
Jim, I just discovered this thread. So sorry to year about your pain. It sounds like you are making some progress. I pray that your docs will get you the help you need for a full recovery. Hopefully you will have longer periods between relaxing and lying down.
