Tuesday, December 20 (just after midnight so very very early morning)

Razor: Delta Echo Razors refurbished and cerakoted Gillette SuperAdjustable 195 on "4" / IP Super Platinum ( 1)
    Brush: Simpsons' Chubby 2 Synthetic
Soap: MWF in Kent beechwood bowl
Post: Rinse, alum, rinse, Lucky Tiger Face Tonic, Clubman VIBR

My last shave was late evening on December 11, so I have not exactly kept my resolve to shave "frequently" this month...

It was a good shave. The Simpsons Chubby reliably whips up a good lather in either a bowl or on the face. (I face lathered today.). Mitchell's Wool Fat is always slick.

I have shaved almost exclusively with injectors for the last couple years, so I thought I might be out of practice with the DE. It turns out that "riding the cap" is much like riding a bicycle -- after the first stroke, I was back in the groove.

The Gillette adjustable set on a medium "4" is an enjoyable middle-of-the-road razor. And the Israeli Personna Super Platinum was just as sharp and smooth as I remembered. I think I have had this batch of IPs for close to a decade now, but as we all know, there is no expiry date on stainless steel razor blades.

One pass got me decently cleanshaven, and a second brought it to DFS. I shave WTG on my face and ATG on my neck, then XTG everywhere for the second pass. A third pass would get me to BBS, but with some skin irritation; I don't see the necessity.

No blood or razorburn, but the alum did sting a little in a couple spots, so my DE technique clearly is a little rustier than I thought...

A splash of Lucky Tiger followed by the burn of the Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum, and I am all ready for a long night at work on the Legal Aid phone lines: I give people legal advice after the police arrest them -- for obnoxious drunkenness, family violence, drunkenness, impaired driving, drunkenness, bar fights, drunkenness, property damage, drunkenness, thefts or break and enters, drunkenness, robbery, drunkenness.... (Do you sense a pattern here? I certainly see one in my calls.)

Hope everyone has a good week and a great Christmas weekend! And remember: if going to office Christmas parties, please take a taxi home!

    DE Shave # 438 - 1508.5 Project - Prarie Song
    DEcember Shave

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Fatip Grande Open Comb
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Leo Frilot Custom NYR 26 mm Synthetic
Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song
Aftershave: Derby City Chop Shop Small Batch Tonic- Winter Reserve
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song Balm

Fantastic DE shave on this chilly but sunny morning. I decide to bust out the Leo Frilot NYR synthetic brush in preparation for tonight’s tilt against the Penqueens (Penguins of Pittsburgh).

Three passes has left my face smooth and refreshed. The post shave routine finished off the shave nicely with the Small Batch sealing the deal.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

DecemBOAR! Focus -- Tuesday Morning Edition

    Razor: Gillette pre-war Tech
    Blade: Gillette Nacet
Brush: Semogue SOC, cherry wood handle
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat

Wow. Already 20 days in. First shave with a pre-war Tech. No surprises, it shaves like a Tech. Today I used it as is and achieved a fine result, but far from BBS. I usually shim a post-war Tech and achieve BBS in two passes. I was interested in the pre-war experience as some report it having higher efficiency. I did not really experience that and will shim it in the future. Nevertheless, it is a smooth and comfortable razor, and it is rewarding to employ a classic tool with great results.

very cool .the canadian pre war version has the largest blade exposure compared to others, though you may still need a shim if your beard type requires it.longer growth for me requires an extra pass with these techs.beard reduction..:):eatdrink047:
