A little more butterscotch to be restored .......... A Simpson 59 A Kent KS5 An Opal 47 A Rooney After a bit of work ............ Simpson 59 with a 24mm 2 banded badger set at 54mm ..... maybe a little high, but it looks good. Kent KS5 set with a 20mm 2 banded badger set at 48mm looking nice. Opal 47 set with a 20mm 2 banded badger set at 48mm looking great! Rooney set with a 20mm 2 banded badger set at 48mm, very nice! And as always ......... more to come.
Thank you! I may have another one. Thank you for you kindness; I started the four after dinner and finished them before bed while watching 'The Muppet Christmas Carol. I've got a very patient wife and son.
A sad hefty Simpson Chubby 3 in need of restoring .... After easily removing the knot and cleaning it out I stabilized the cracks and set the loft height at 54mm of the Super High Density 28mm Maggard's knot. An extremely solid, beautiful, caramel Simpson Chubby #3 ..... quite the beast! And as always ...... more to come.
Okay, I have a really dumb question you've probably answered 8,409 times already: where do you find all these old brushes to restore???
Gavin, I get them all over, but commonly on ebay and trading other shavers for services. If there's something in particular you're looking for, just PM me and I may have it in my many boxes. Steve, you just need to wear a drooly bib when you click on my post, just in case.
@Enrico I'll need to get three: 1) to keep beside my home office desk B) to keep beside my work office desk III) to keep in my pocket for when I'm on my cell phone!
