Thanks for the comments Joe. That was the point I was trying to make (ineloquently). I'm amazed how much water the Stirling soap takes without getting bubbly or thin. It's one thirsty soap.

Stirling can definitely take on water. It is one of the many things that I like about this soap.

I decided to pick out my Rockwell 6C. I have been using it mostly for headshaves so it was time to use it for a face shave. I went for the Stirling Bergamot Lavender because I want to use up my samples. Also, I just love this scent. This isn't a flowery Lavender because the Bergamot brings out a spicy note. I would consider this a barbershop type scent. Here's the bowl lather:

Did another rare 3 pass shave with WTG, XTG and ATG, respectively. I got a BBS shave, but I got a tiny weep on my upper lip because the edge was getting rough. I felt the edge again on my right cheek, but no blood occurred. I did bin the blade after the shave.
There was some alum feedback on my neck, but it was bearable. Finished this session with a generous splash of the Veg. Take care.

Change of pace shave courtesy of the shaving mug which facilitated a hot water shave. The reservoir was filled with boiling water. Three passes with my first custom razor delivered another extremely close shave.

The steam from the water of the shaving mug did present a challenge with the shaving brush at the conclusion of the shave. The steam weakened the silicone in the knot handle resulting in the brush popping out. No worries, I just reloaded some fresh silicone and set the knot.

Hope you are having a great day gentlemen.

I know you like the Veg. I would not have considered pairing it with that soap. Very nice shave Joe.

Excellent shave Barry. I used to use the GEM carbon blades before finding the stainless version. I usually get 10 shaves from either blade. To combat the rust I would coat the blade with some sterol oil. I now use barristol.

I am not sure how many shave you usually go with the DE blades but that may be an option. Of course, you may have an abundance of blades in your den so it won’t matter.

Thanks Joe. I have used that combo before. Personally, I don't feel that using The Veg and Bergamot Lavender together is a stretch.

Thank you, Joe. I have an abundance of DE blades so it's not a big issue for me. I normally get on average 4-6 max with the exception of some DE blades i get more However, because I have such an abundance of Sub-continent made blades due to past impulsive buying I'm only using them for 2 shaves to thin down on them. I've yet the try the GEM carbon blades, as the stainless version work wonderfully for me. thanks for the tip on using the barristol. Yours- Barry.
