    Good afternoon.

Everything went well this afternoon. The more I used this soap, then the scent becomes more bearable. However, I still will not repurchase this soap because the scent is still meh to my nose. The good thing about the soap is that it lathers as expected giving a nice, creamy, and slick medium.

Two passes without any incidents gave me a near BBS shave. I didn't feel like chasing a BBS result so I didn't do a pickup pass. There was not any alum feedback. Splashed on the matching aftershave and I feel refreshed. Take care.

    Greetings,

    Early morning Shave,

The Centwin SP are very much like the Indian 7o'Clock blacks smooth, sharp and efficient. Another blade that pairs together with the Merkur 34C wonderfully.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Very nice. Is the 34c as nice as I hear? I have other Merkur razors and like all of them.

Strange situation on my shaves yesterday and today. Yesterday, after 5 shaves, I put a new Astra SP into the R41. First stroke really tugged, bad. I kept going, but it was not fun. Result was an OK shave, a few weepers and lots of AS feedback. I was not happy.

Today I switched the blade again. First stroke...ouch! This blade was even worse! It felt like I was pulling out the hairs one by one. I thought "oh hell no". I went to the cabinet and got another new Astra blade. Hesitantly, I started my shave. This time the blade was smooth as silk. Result was a nice BBS, no weepers, no AS feedback. I'm trying to focus, I don't need this extra grief.

Is it me or has the quality of Astra blades declined?[IMG]

Ouch! That is terrible that you had 2 blades that were not good. I guess quality control lapsed on the day those blades were made. Tbh, I have tried the Astra Blues and I found them to be less than stellar. I have heard the Astra Greens are much better so I am surprised that you had problems with those blades. Enjoy your day Herm.

Thank You. The 34c is a wonderful every-day shaver, paired together with the right blade choice it can be very assertive too. I also have the Merkur 37c & 39c (Sledgehammer) slants which are superb. Especially the 37c.

Good to know, thank you Barry. Maybe I'll pick one up. I also have the Sledgehammer (one of my favorites), but dropped it last time and it's irreversibly bent.

Wonderful shave set up. Because DE blades are so mass produced, regardless of the brand, once in a while you get the odd dud, or a faulty batch. The quality control overall isn't too bad IMHO.As always opinions are very subjective, especially with DE blades. Yours- Barry.

That's a shame. If it's just the top plate that's irreversibly bent you can replace it. here's a link. ..Merkur Razor Parts – Manufacturer Originals (merkurshave.com) I'm not sure how much the shipping & import tax will be, it may work out cheaper buying from your side of the pond if and when you decide to do so.
