Thank you, Joe. The 37c is my most used slant bar razor, along with the parker 55Sl semi-slant. I personally find Slant razors mild yet very efficient razors if that makes sense.I will be giving my 37c a good run out soon, pairing it up with my continuing revisiting sub-continent DE blade focus.

I decided to do an open blade shave, but I was to lazy to go for a straight razor and went with my Parker. Lol! I promise that I will do a traditional straight razor shave tomorrow. Anyway, I went for the TSD Irish Spring soap to see if I can get more volume from the lather by blooming the soap instead of straight loading a damp brush on the puck. The result was a more voluminous lather that was slick and creamy. Now I know to Bloom these lanolin soaps. It's unfortunate that the scent is almost non-existent in the soap and the aftershave. It's also the same with my other 2 TSD soaps and aftershaves in my den.

Anyway, I did a 2.5 pass shave that resulted in an error-free, smooth and comfortable shave. However, I binned this blade because I had to constantly buff and it really didn't feel sharp towards the end of this shave. The alum feedback was nada. Splashed on the matching aftershave and I am happy with the results. Take care.

Thanks Gary. When you do use the Parker, just have an attitude that you are going to enjoy it. It helps you to relax, but you still need to be focused. My very first shavette shave with my Dovo was a great, bloodless experience because I was positive in doing so. Looking forward to your post when you do shave with it.

I remember when you used it the first time. Honestly, I think you would do well with it because you have a mechanic's coordination.

    SE Shave # 301 - “First” Razor Shave - SE - MMBT

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
    Blade: GEM Stainless (1)
Brush: Brent Jacobson Tamarind and Ebony w/ Paragon 24mm boar
    Lather: Stirling Sharped Dressed Man
    Aftershave: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

New blade, same result. I can trust that I will receive a phenomenal shave with any of the GEM razors that I have in my den. Of the GEM razors, the MMBT and the MMOC, received the most usage due to the Micromatic Monday focus.

I reached for the SDM from Stirling which I have not used in a while. The challenges of having enough some for probably the next 15 - 20 years. Of course some are samples. As with all of the Stirling soaps, I am able to build a nice lather, usually more on the thinner persuasion, that provides a slick cushion for each of my three passes. Another BBS or as of friend Jeff, @jgreenepa, would profess, “Smooth and velveteen.”

I hope you all have a wonderful day.
