  2. Thursday morning shave, CVH MK No.30, probably used a long time and honed over the years, likely the reason why it is so narrow.

  3. Pair of Cape 2000 re-scaled in honey horn by @Doc226 - this was an edge test of the kiita and iromono.. It was pretty much a tie, both edges very keen and smooth. Soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a Rooney Beehive in Super Badger, and Myrsol Limon finished up.

  10. Yesterday, a Shell 72 Silver Steel, soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a Rooney beehive, and L’Occitane Provence cedrat finished up.

Today, a Le Grelot 71, soap and AS were vintage Yardley, and the brush was a Maggard SHD knot in the ‘hippie handle’ by Scott Lockwood. Really needed to break out the MdC for this knot, it holds a lot of soap.

  13. Maybe ! I wouldn’t complain about an early spring.

Calendar winter is December, January, and February. The vernal equinox is March 20th, so still a good bit of winter left.

Oddly enough though, here in the Tennessee river valley, we get most of our snow in March and early April, when the changing weather causes moisture to collide with cold air. January and February usually exhibit two patterns, wet and warm or cold and dry.

It’s that cold and dry pattern that makes AS balms appealing.

  17. Nice looking razor Hans !

Cape 500 Silver Steel today, soap was Dr Selby lathered with a Morris and Forndran L7 Blonde Badger, and the AS was ‘The Veg’.

Maggards has Dr Selby cream and soap in stock is you want some, from the ingredient list the hard soap is a pure coconut oil soap, stearic acid is the first listed ingredient.

This was may first outing with the veg, and although I am apparently not one of the ‘chosen’. I didn’t get cat pee either. The scent seems to be mostly lilac and anise, and the regular Clubman also has a good note of anise in it, which is a very popular scent (and flavor) in France. The veg is not a pleasant scent to me, what it smells like is a dank but freshly cleaned interstate gas station restroom. No thanks.
