Thanks Gary. I was so excited when I purchased it because it was my very first straight. I picked it because of its aesthetics and it was honed by the great honemeister, Lynn Abrams of Straight Razor Designs. That was over 4 yrs ago.

    Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Asda Tingly Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Wright's Coal Tar Traditional Bar Soap.
    Brush: Omega S10065.
    Bowl Lather.
Bowl : Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
    Lather: Derby Shaving Soap Bowl.
Razor: Parker 55SL Semi-Slant. (Face) -Treet 7 Days Platinum. (D1)
Razor: Ever Ready 1912. (ENG) (Head/Dome) - Personna Gem PTFE SS. (D2.)

    Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Alum Rub. / Cold Water Face & Head Rinse. Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel. /Herbs of Bulgaria Lavender ASL./Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel. /Adidas Extreme Power EdT.

A new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend.

A wonderful performance from both the Parker 55SL and the E.R. 1912. The English version of the 1912 i find slightly more assertive than the US version. That said, both are a joy to shave with.

Like all my other Parker DE razors the Parker 55SL has paired together with all of DE blades i have paired it up with. Some have been better than others, but all have given me acceptable results to date.

A close comfortable face and head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Adidas Extreme Power EdT to the pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Great job this morning with the Stoylin Ramblin "men"....(Soap and A.S.). Wow, what a scent! Very masculine, but Doc Ezlovan doesn't dupe it to a cologne. Fine job slong the cheeks&sideburns, although I did miss that famous area of mine(below right ear, at the jawline). I fixed it before coming on here. North and South Porcupine Alley were great, as was the rest of the jawline. I did a little better today than yesterday down at Cactus Nation. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I "played around" some with the Adams Apple down at Cactus-do not want to go hard with or a serious cut might happen. But still, you want to get rid of the whiskers on it. Love the matching aftershave. I believe it was our old friend Linuxguile who PIFed me the Ramblin Man. Very pleased. Outta This World Excellent.

I have never owned a full DE shavette, but I would think it's more convenient because you don't have to break a blade in half.

In Italy it is the shavette for beginners. In the school for barbers, too.
Same dexterity as a straight razor, but with guard protection.
It has the geometry of a Gillette Tech.

It occured to me that I forgot to upload yesterday's SOTD. I stropped the blade beforehand and was rewarded with a harsh, yet very sharp shave. Here's hoping the blade settles down a bit today.

    SRS # 821 - 1508.5 Project - Prairie Song

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thistle 5/8”
Brush: Shore Shave Blue Nebula w/ Paragon 25 mm Boar
Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva (Spanish)
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song Balm

Mid afternoon shave today as I am getting g ready to head off to a 50th birthday party. The Shore Shave brush whipped up a huge amount of lather from a small almond sized scoop of soap. I had enough soap for probably five passes, luxuriously slick and thick.

The Thistle straight has left my face smooth and velveteen. There were not any post shave sneaky 10 minute later weepers. Finished the shave off with a nice splash of the Spanish version of the AV. Smelling good. Just prior to heading out I will close this shave out with a few spritzes of the Halston Z-14 Cologne.

    Have a great evening gentlemen
