I decided to use my Parker shavette for this afternoon's shave. Lately, I have gone off convention wisdom with my brush loading and facelathering.
I just splash a boatload of water on the puck and just load my damp brush without dumping the water from the buck. I just figured that I apply a very thin lather and pretend it's a preshave and then add more soap to the brush to continue facelathering to get a wonderful creamy lather. It's my fast method to lather. Lol!
Anyway, did a pass shave without any bloodshed. The Astra Blue is sharp, but it feels a little rough. I am sure it will settle down on my subsequent shaves. The alum was felt on my neck, but I wasn't surprised. Finished with the matching aftershave and I am good to go. Take care.

Very nice shave Joe. I guess my question is as follows: Why would you need to dampen the brush of you threw a boatload of water on to the puck? I am sure there is a method to your madness. Then again, your are a fellow science teacher.

 

Thanks Joe.. In response to your question, I wet my face with the brush before I load the soap.

Lather: MWF.
Razor: (Face) Parker 55SL Semi-Slant. - Euromax Platinum. (D1)
Razor: (Head/Dome) Yaqi Katana. - Euromax Platinum Single Edge. (D1.)

Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Alum Rub. / Cold Water Face & Head Rinse. Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel. / Nivea Men Replenishing PSB./Milton Lloyd The Man Cobalt EdT.

A new shave set up to start the weekend...My recent reacquaintance with my Slant razors has been wonderful. The Parker 55SL Semi-Slant is such a smooth shaver, very much like the Merkur 37C and it's bigger sibling 39C.The Euromax Platinum was a great match with both the Yaqi katana & Parker 55SL Semi-Slant feeling smooth & efficient in both razors.

An invigorating cold water face and head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd The Man Cobalt EdT to the pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Fantastic shave with Andrey’s custom Kamisori this morning. Three passes of shaving Nirvana has left my face ultra smooth. The post shave alum report was minimal at best. The final touch of the Derby City Small Batch aftershave was perfect for this cool and damp morning. I do not mind cold but throw in the dampness and .

Regarding the Fitzgerald process of the soap, I have 22 grams left. I am tempted to move it to daily use, 3017 Project, starting Wednesday just so I can finish it off by the first week of February. I estimate I have about 14 shaves left in the tub which would take me to the beginning of February.

I have a couple of prospects for the next soap in line for the Fitzgerald process. The options are:
Proraso Blue (Aloe & Vitamin E) tube - cream
Lather Bros. Calle Ocho
Old Cahaba Shave Club Brocha
Ginger’s Garden Snow Bliss

Another wonderful slant shave Barry. As you may be aware, I have the 37c. Since I have an anniversary of another trip around the Sun on this huge chunk of mostly iron we call home, I have added the 39c - Sledhammer to my Amazon wishlist. Perhaps I may get lucky that one of my family members will gift it to me since they are always asking what I want. Not that I need any more razors but I finding this one would reside in the Southern Den.

Wow....wonderful shave this morning from Hub City Soaps(WTX). After the shave itself, I was feeling that that was enough, don't need the aftershave. But I did it, as it was a close match to Hub City WTX. . On the shave itself, no problems but there was an issue down at Cactus(neck). No pain, just some redness showed up. I didn't control the A.S. the way I wanted, thus extra liquid poured out. It's a great scent though(Weekend Rodeo)but it, along with everything else Central Texas sold, is unavailable due to the sad departure of CTS. I suppose we can say that this shave covered central (A.S.) and western(shave)Texas. Lots of area to cover. I just have to do better at the pour spout of the Week-end Rodeo. Super Duper Excellent.
