First use of this splash. I’m lousy at picking apart scents, but find it pleasant. Great face feel 90 minutes later as well. Love the Art Deco bottle too, but I understand the latest iteration is a new bottle.
    Have a great day all!

    Thursday morning’s Grand Freeze:

    As the snow falls here…….

    Hot shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Junjie/Astra Green day 9
    MSC Frosted Lavender SS
    Thayer’s Lavender Witch Hazel
    Prep ASB
    MSC Frosted Lavender AS Splash
    Aramis EdT

Would you guys believe that my wife prepared this setup for me while I was sleeping? What a sweet angel she is. My brother Fernando’s Frosted Lavender soap and aftershave have everything I love - a gorgeous scent, frigidly cold menthol, and such great skincare. The soap’s tallow formula gives the lather such thickness, richness, and slickness, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and it leaves my skin feeling like it’s been born again. The Thayer’s Lavender witch hazel hardly has any scent but it feels so good, and the Frosted Lavender aftershave is also witch hazel based so it never stings or burns, it smells as lovely as the soap, and the menthol kick it gives is off the charts. Last but not least a couple of shpritzes of Aramis and I’m all set to relax around the house and continue enjoying my retirement. Three passes resulted in a magnificent BBS shave that was so enjoyable!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and stay safe![IMG]

    Razor :
Yaqi "Beast 2" this is a Yaqi Flipside base plate with a Yaqi melon head- created in 2022 by myself (upper mid range), the melon head is thicker with possibly less curvature in the head giving more gap from the normal Flipside gap of 21/1000 or .021inches to 41/1000 or .041 inches giving slightly more blade feel or exposure. The flipside by its self is a fine mid range + open comb side is the milder side on this dual head and the Yaqi beast just bumps it up to a upper mid range I'm experiencing. Very nice close shave with a excellent blade.
Blade : Gillette Perma-sharp(3) sharp & smooth with good longevity so far, very impressive blade for a new trial blade.(Curious)
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer Rapier, nice musk scent with excellent lather qualities (Aramis scent?), this soap was commissioned by Yaqi to be created by Master soap creations S.A. This soap scent is addictive and always look forward to using it + excellent lather IMO.
Brush : Yaqi "barber pole" 24mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Excellent handle for large hands + knot is one of the best for performance.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel soap residual cleanse + Yaqi Musketeer rapier AS + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] excellent stellar shave with my Yaqi Beast 2 razor with a Perma-sharp blade. Great razor to try if you have these razor heads for a combo.

same as today(featuring Bill Neumann Heartwood), HOWEVER:

    Brush-The Clubman Pinaud

(the smaller brush could be more suitable for the small Neumann puck).

OK...thank you. I'll have to have another look at the OS soaps. My Old Spice clone seems to be pretty good.
