A big shout out to my friend @Primotenore! He surprised me with a puck of Chiseled Face Midnight Stag shave soap and the matching aftershave.

This will be my first time using Chiseled Face products. I am already pleased to learn that it will help me maintain my rugged good looks.

Midnight Stag is a powerhouse scent. I can pick out all the advertised notes. Maybe because I like stronger scents like Aramis, I like this one too. First impressions: the smoke hits hard at first but then eases up to something more pleasing. I like the wood and leather notes, and they seem to dominate. The jury is still out on the gasoline/Hoppe's No. 9, but it stays in the background. It will be interesting to see how my opinion changes after a few uses.

I watched a video review of the soap. It appears to perform quite well.

Joseph, you definitely expanded my horizons (and cleared out my lungs) with this one. Thank you, and I look forward to using it. :)

Yeah. In hindsight it was a hell of a gamble. Turned out alright though. It's not the razor stone I wanted, but it turned out to be the knife stone I needed.

I have a buddy who has quite the collection of old hones and he's trying to sell some of them. He might be the resource I've been looking for.

Went shopping this morning...nothing. Nada, nothing, blank, zero, zip

Then went back home, got the call from Gumtree! ---- a retired chap up the road is clearing his den, 10 minutes away! The Slim I have been looking for.
Hmm, think I got slightly carried away...anyway.

2x Slims, great condition, one boxed, ( I4) one unboxed, K3.
    Heaps of blades
New Razorock plisoft 24 mm synthetic, don't have a synthetic up to now.
One reknotted Ever-Ready 200 made in USA, can't say more than that.
Two Gillette shaving sticks, unused, slightly different scent to the Arko I have already, (now grated and 'resting' in the garage for a few weeks)

Should keep me going for a while.
    Collecting I mean.
Thought I had shaken the habit.:D

Safetee shaving cabinet. It's not in the best shape but hey, it's a century old and it's intact (and I've seen much worse). It will stay at work since shaving has been happening there lately.

So long as the wood's not rotten it can be resurrected. I really enjoy restoring vintage items.

Cheap enough. Support local. Worth a whirl. My wife's nose approves so that is a bonus.

Is that a Rolls Razor shave stick? It looks a lot like one. If so, it's a very good soap, once you get past the outer petrified layer. Also very rare to find one still unused like that.
