30 Day Rule/Focus; Feb 2023. All are welcome!

I used a camera setting thzat did not use the red lite for the auto-focus. He HATE that light and it will make him scowl for photos.

 

I meant to say that I DON"T go with the full routine....in other words, I am getting lazy.

Lots of days when I shave I just put hot water on top of the soap to soften it and then simply swirl the brush and do a face lather without the pre-shave.
The lather ain't as rich but, it gets the job done!

At least the wether has been such that I have only had to plow 2 or 3 times all winter so far. I took the blower off the tractor and put the blade back on.
Momma winter has a way of catching up so, we will prolly get nailed these next 2 months...

I am ready for spring so I can start some of my projects!

I'm still hanging in there. I have been using the Tataras this week for some very nice solid shaves. The Tabac and the Shore Shave got along real well together today. The Masamune delivered a very nice three pass shave with no surprises.

I had a little dental work done this week.....I had an small abscess at the base of a tooth that had a root canal done about 20 years ago. It is amazing how something so small can hurt so much. I'm on the mends now and feeling a lot better.

First time pairing the Prarie Song with the Citrus Musk. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by how well they go together.
Here are the scent profiles for both aftershaves:
Prarie Song: “Fresh, warm notes of tobacco and old leather, herbaceous sage, crisp lemongrass, and darker undertones of patchouli, vetiver and whiskey.”

Citrus Musk: “Invigorating citrus blend of lemongrass, limes, lemons, and bergamot followed with jasmine, muguet, and carnation.”

Educational Moment: Miguel is French for Lily of the Valley.

The overall shave, post hot shower, was absolutely fantastic. So much so that I am considering using the same pairing for tomorrow’s shave. That being said, I may opt for the Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux La Forêt de Liguest to smell nice for the missus as we are heading to a Broadway show tomorrow evening.

February 10- A Date Which Will Live In Infamy. Why. That will be the date I get going with my 3017 "experiment".

 

Maybe that's why our golden retriever looked so mean when he barked into my Dad's camera. Great shot that was.

 

Yes.....we all know about March. The month that comes IN like a lion, and goes OUT like the same cat.

 

Does this mean that in order to do a third pass you need to reload the brush with soap?

Thanks Joe. No, I just drench the puck and the brush. I wet my face with the brush to start prepping my stubble and then I close the lid of the tub and swirl it to get a nice foam to make my preshave. Afterwards, I swirl the damp brush to load the brush, but the soap is still very wet and transparent so it's still in the preshave stage. Eventually, I still hit the soap to get a very nice, thick, rich lather. Enough for 3 passes and using a lot of soap.

Chilly morning and even chiller evening upcoming which is not really conducive to walking around the street of Manhattan. Nonetheless I will be looking and smelling good.

Excellent Fougere type shave with the R41. The usual three passes easily has left my face super smooth and irritation free.

The missus, my son and I will be heading to a Broadway show this evening. We will be seeing Hamilton. My wife was able to obtain tickets at half price. She loves Broadway, I tolerate it. However, I was not going to let her go to that ever deteriorating cesspool by herself. Besides, more importantly, I enjoy being with the two of them.
