SE Shave # 308 - MICROMATIC DECLARATION GROOMING MONDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade: GEM Stainless (8)
    Brush: Jayaruh 381 Badger/Boar
Lather: Declaration Grooming After the Rain
Aftershave: Declaration Grooming After the Rain
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

I decided to mix up my Monday’s shave. Over the past year and a half I have always used DG Darkfall to pair with my two Micromatics. For the near future any DG and DG/CL soap-splash combination may be called upon. Of course I reserve the right to throw in a few consecutive Monday’s with the Darkfall.

Once again the MMOC provided a flawlessly close shave. The post shave alum report was nonexistent. I was looking good and smelling good as I walk out the door this morning. The DG After the Rain scent profile is as follows: “After the Rain is like a walk through a forest after a spring shower with notes of wet pine, muted lavender, cedar, and white pepper.”

Hope you all have a great evening.

Thanks Joe. I have been getting great shaves with safety razors. Razorock soaps have always given me super lathers.

I really like how this 1930's Gillette shaves! I want to use more of my DE razors because I have SO many DE blades.
This short comb Gillette left me really smooth with zero irritation even after a 3-pass shave.
I finally figured out how to get my jawline smooth. I always was able to feel a bit of stubble before even after a 2-pass shave.
I guess my beard grows in 3 different directions! I had always avvoided more than 2 passes before thinking it would have more chance of causing irritation.
Done right, it really doesn't. At least with this razor! LOL

I should try my MMOC razors again. The only single edge razors I been using are the Lather Catcher and my 3 GEM.
Maybe after I use up a few of my DE blades. :happy005: I have a bunch of them to use but not a lot of the SE blades.:signs131:
    I'm disgusted with myself!

A very brisk invigorating early morning cold water shave.

I haven't used the Clubman Pinaud soap for a while and forgot how much a great in-expensive soap it is.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of The RS Co SPF15 Anti-Ageing Moisturiser.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

I am feeling lazy and will do my shave later today. Senior center is a no-go today due to them having an event with hired music so, no jam. It's going to be another nice day with almost 50 degrees. Snow all but gone so I can walk around the yard. NYSEG had a tree trimming crew here yesterday so, I will have to survey the mess. Maybe I will start the Harley so I can hear it run. If my driveway dries out more, maybe I can go for a ride tomorrow. It will be almost 60!

Theo is feeling good this AM. He is racing all around the house now! LOL

It may be that you're technique improved. I think you may surprise yourself by using other razors and get the same results on your jawline.

Very satisfied with my shave this morning. The Oro Valley has quickly become one of my favorite Stoylin soaps. Fresh and clean shave all around. I attacked the Ingrown Swamp down at Cactus, and did all right, but I'l never fully get rid of it. Zero Cuts, Knicks, and Polka-Dots. The Razorock Puros is a nice aftershave to work with Oro Valley soap. 2 passes. As Outstanding As It Gets.

She wanted to hire me. I used to get paid to play there for events. I won't do it alone tho....I lost my finger-style guitarist back in 2020 and after he died, the other guy decided he doesn't want to do it anymore. It is nice to have others to share the load. Let others make a little cash now instead. I know the guy playing there today. He sometimes comes to our jam. I am working on scales and learning finger-style (lead) now. It's starting to make sense to me. I play totally by ear. I may pull out my Telecaster today to practice some more. I need to build confidence and speed.
