Thank you, Joe. The Pearl Man shaving soap is made in India for Pearl Shaving Co. It's a vegan formula naturally conditions, moisturises and protects your skin while shaving. The soap creates a thick and luxurious lather with both a brush, natural or synthetic brush. The scent to my nose is a mild pine/citrus fragrance.

SE Shave # 316 - MICROMATIC DECLARATION GROOMING MONDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Brush: Satin Tip Badger
Lather: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Bon Vivant
Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Bon Vivant Toner
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Wonderful MMOC shave this morning. The Satin Tip badger whipped up a nice lather. I obtained the Chatillon Lux Bon Vivant toner in 2018 to pair with the DG Trismegistus soap. Since I enjoyed the scent of the toner I decided to pick up the soap as well. It is truly an enjoyable soap and splash for me. Unfortunately, it appears that the soap at DG and the toner at CL are not longer available. Therefore I use this combination sparingly.

The MMOC just delivers a great shave. I am super smooth and refreshed as I head out the door to get the car inspected. Just another money grab for the “Vampire State”.

Hope you all have an enjoyable day.

Nice shave this morning. With the Clubman brush, you might say it was an all-Barbershop shave. No cuts, one Knick(near the lower lip), no Polka-Dots. The soap(Razorock American Barber)went on very well. I'm trying to get the brush as hot as I can stand it, to make the soap/skin entry more comfortable. The Kmick was the only blemish. Very good everwher else. Probably could have done better along the sides of N. Porcupine Alley. Will correct that tomorrow(albeit with a different lineup). Clubman A.S. to close out.Super Duper Oustanding.

No, I took delivery of the car on Oct 21, 2022 with the inspection sticker expiring May 2023.

You were not required to have an inspection when you registered the vehicle in October?

Like I said, the car had already an up-to-date sticker good thru May 2023 so there was no need to get the car inspected. The DMV didn't have an issue registering my car and neither did my insurance company because the inspection sticker is good through May 2023. I think you were under the impression that you have to get the car inspected every time you purchase a car. As long as the sticker has not expired it's still good.

I did a 2.5 pass today. It went well except I knicked my top portion of my ear. It happens. Fortunately, I still have my ear intact. Lol! However, it took awhile to seal it up.
Anyway, I finally Fitzgerald this soap. I couldn't wait. The good thing about Razorock soaps is that they last a long time. They are slick and easy to produce a nice coverage of lather. The C-Mon razor is still as sharp as I first bought it years ago.
The alum feedback was negligible on this very close and comfortable shave. Splashed on the Proraso aftershave to end this session. Finally, I had to ask myself,"Would I buy Razorock XX? No, because the scent was very light. I might as well have bought an unscented soap. This isn't to say I wouldn't buy another Razorock soap, but I definitely would pass on this one. Take care.

    March 30 day focus

    6 mar MWF small 2.jpg

    Growth: 1 – 2 days, skipped a day y’day.
    Lather Bowl: white
    Brush: Old Vulfix badger
Razor 1: Muhle R41 was calling again!
Razor 2: Muhle R89 as a reliable old back up.
    Blade: Perma-sharp (3)
    Face Prep: usual 3x HWS
Pre shave: Proraso white deep massage in, left in place while tackling the lathering of the ..
...Soap: Mitchells Wool Fat, first time use of.
Post Shave: warm-cold water rinse, patted dry, Thayers
Aftershave: Proraso white. Who is Elijah EdP. Not the best, so I will be liberal with this and try to use this up.

    Passes:
1st pass R41: WTG/XTG in areas. Still never got to the chin and Adam's apple in the first pass.
    2nd pass R41: mainly XTG
3rd pass: Muhle R89 WTG, XTG. Then ATG lower lip, sideburns.
Touch ups: finished up with the Muhle R89, chin, XTG and ATG upper and lower lip.

Results: No damage done, I might be treading too carefully.

Success: Satisfactory overall. Day 3 of the Perma-sharp. I still seem to get best results with 2 days for all the blades I have used so far.
R41 was fine in most areas, tricky around the chin. Not happy using this for the touch ups or buffing, so back to the trusty old R89.

Mitchell Wool Fat, first time of using this. Used filtered (therefore soft) water, it lathered up well enough. Not as slick today as with my TOBS creams + glycerine drops. May have landed up with a bit too much water in the later passes, I read somewhere this is tricky soap to get the hang of.

    Residual stubble:
Hollows around the Adam's apple. Don’t think I can do more than WTG and XTG here at the moment. Minor roughness around the sides of moustache areas. Suspect this is tough area for many men, hence the proliferation of fashionable goatees!

Overall very satisfied. Not ready to try the J-hooking yet, still chipping away at the chin area.

Next goal: to be able to complete the whole beard area in the first pass.

Looking forward to the rest of the week ahead.

It seems you have a tough beard Chris. The hair on the corners of the mouth are definitely resistant to sbaving, especially going ATG. I hit that area with the razor starting at NW/SE (mirror image) on my left corner and NE/SW (mirror image) on my right corner. I am going to do a video with one of my open blade razors to go over techniques that can be transferred to DE or SE shaving. I will download it here within a week or so.
