It's been awhile since I had a 42 hr stubble so I picked up my trusty Dovo Shavette for this morning’s shave. I will be using Stirling Triumph until I use it all up on weekdays. The scent is nice, but it doesn't stand out because it is similar to Executive Man and Intrepid Man. I only did a 2 pass shave without pickups and without bloodshed. The shave was IBSS (in between DFS and BBS). I wasn't looking for BBS. I just wanted to be clean-shaven. I am going to replace this blade because it feels like I had 15 shaves with it. At 15, these blades usually lose their sharpness. I guess this blade was a defect. Lol! The post shave was nothing out of the ordinary. The alum was silent and the aftershave was cooling. Take care.

Thank you Joe. The R41/yaqi frankenrazor I tried purely out of curiosity. The Mellon top cap fitted with the R41 bottom plate makes the R41 feel noticeably smoother than with the muhle top cap. Why it does, I can only assume that the yaqi cap clamps down the blade more, reducing the blade chatter, making the razor feel considerably tamer/smoother when shaving with the same assertiveness the R41 base plate. It's given me the most comfortable close shaves with no irritation I've had with the R41 to date. Yours- Barry.

Early morning shave, mid afternoon post. The choice of the soap scent turns out to be perfect for todays weather here on LI. I know Joe, @Trigger, is doing his version of the Tarantella.
Definitely feels like an early Spring day.

I kept myself busy throughout the morning following a hot shower and wonderful shave. Did some errands around the town and in the yard. Just completed the X3 Bar Pull workout and am now relaxing in the Sun on the back stoop.

Throughout the day I have been treated to whiff on the scent of the soap/aftershave. This scent profile is as follows: “Wonderful mixture of citrus, vanilla, sandalwood, and lily of the valley, this scent is a great balance of freshness and musk.” I just finished the sample size of the aftershave. It is a summer release by Stirling so I will have to pick up a full bottle.

The three pass shave with the straight produce a close and comfortable shave. I did have one mishap, due to momentary user lack of focus which resulted in a cut on the right side of the neck. The syptic stick and a small piece of toilet paper took care of the crimson. It is all good as I will be back on the horse with the Puma straight for tomorrow’s shave.

Awesome shave, gear and software Joe. Yes, spring is here and I am definitely smiling. Btw, for you non-Italians, the Tarantella is an Italian dance. The literal translation is the Tarantula's Dance. It is usually performed at weddings where people hold hands to make a circle. The participants move clockwise while moving to the music.
