Newly Acquired, modern made razor. I had to do a couple hundred laps on the Illinois Strop, to bring the edge out. Before, it barely cut a hanging hair, with multiple attempts. Now, it will cut the hanging hairs, root in, or out, with the slightest touch. Dang scary sharp now. I had a dead silent 2 pass shave, with minor touch-ups around the chin. The result was a BDBS shave. This is a 15/16th inch width blade, and long. I honestly wouldn't want it any larger. I typically prefer Full to Extra Hollow blades, but this 1/4 Hollow does a fine job, and it was comfortable.

Brush- B-400 By Tom( @twhite ). Omega Boar knot.
Soap- AOS Kingsman. Bourbon. Discontinued.
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Willys Jeep decanter.

 

Sunday injector shave, April 16th 2023

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur 50mm AC with a Yaqi Milano polished handle- Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range, simple designed clamping design of blade, small head parts (best to assemble under wash cloth), I find this razor gives me nice shaves 95%> of the time with no skin issues or drama. Excellent shave this morning .
Blade : Schick proline P30 50mm blade(1) , sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity. Good match with this razor for myself.
Soap : Razorock The Dead Sea croap- nice unique scent that is wonderful + excellent lather qualities. On to my 2nd glass tub.
Brush : Yaqi "Aqua" 24mm HM Silvertip badger, excellent lather generator, soft pillow like tips, nice splay scrubber(reminds me of a boar brush sometimes), excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The dead Sea with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur 50mm with a Schick proline p30 blade.

Boti 20mm Leader Silvertip - Reef Break - Generic Type 77 Barber Razor/Rhinoceros #4 - Epsilon Blue Mediterranean AS

Another Welsh Soap today...but a mixed result. The end result was excellent but I just could not build a stable lather and I don't know if it was the brush on it's 2nd use or the soap. It took away from the enjoyment of the shave

The Personna injector blade fits the Boti AC razor like a glove. The difference between the Feather AC and injector blades is length. AC 2.0" Personna injector 1.5" Width is identical and cut outs on blade exactly matches the pins on the razor. The shave with the Personna is fantastic.

The Proraso Green Shaving Soap lathered well with the Tom's B400 Two-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Bunny V3 Injector Razor with the NOTSO comb and a Supply Black Label Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve last used the Glacial Black Cherry soap so I decided to go with it today. Man oh man I had tons of awesome lather that not only mega frigid, the slickness helped the Junjie/Rapira combo skate across my face, the lovely scent filled the bathroom, and the postshave feeling was so fantastic. The Prep delivered so much additional moisturizing and soothing with a nice cooling boost, the Snake Bite aftershave froze the crap out of me, and it felt heavenly to wear the delightful Bleu de Chanel which is my number one favourite fragrance. Three passes gave me an absolutely magnificent BBS shave that was such a pleasure!

Shave of the Week Starting 4/17/2023

The Red Tip/Astra combo is a good one for me, smooth/comfortable/effective. I like it. Love the Dr Selby SC, it should actually be called a soap I think. At any rate, it works great, lathers easily, gives excellent protection and my face feel just fine when the shave is completed. Not a fan of this particular brush, may change it this week. Anyway, my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks

Razor : Gem Micromatic Flying wing(AKA= MMBT, guiding eye, MMFW...)- built in 1947-50, mild to tame mid range, mildest of the 3 Micromatic model variants, well built and the heaviest of the 3 Micromatic variant as shown(excluding the plastic tip end variant) + built to last and I had a great shave this morning with no drama.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(5) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock "The dead Sea", nice unique scent with excellent lather qualities. Just started my 2nd tub!
Brush : Yaqi "Mountain lake" 24 mm 2 band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Very enjoyable brush in the hand and performs well!
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock "The Dead Sea" AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= great shave with my Micromatic Flying wing razor with a coated Gem blade.
