Thank you Danny.....I'm glad I decided to try both directions...twice with South-to-North brings on the cuts.

Superb tutorial Joe. You make the art of traditional straight Shaving look easy.

Thank you for the kind words Barry. Personally, I find straight razor shaving to be very enjoyable. At one time, I believed that anyone shaving with a straight was not all together there. Lol! Moreover, I am naturally a klutz so to even think about open blade shaving was not viable for me. Fortunately, I was intrigued by that shaving method and took the plunge 4.5 years ago. I never looked back and made some nice friends because of it here on TSD.

Thank you Joe. I am certainly picking up some great advice from The Den! I like the comment about minimal of lather as a pre-shave. I've finished one pot of Proraso blue preshave and one of white, and am half-way through my green pot of Proraso pre-shave, and have thought that I won't replace these and maybe just use some proto-lather instead. It will be interesting to try that too. Part of the fun of using different setups:happy088:

    Good Morning.

It's Micromatic Monday so I brought out my GEM MMOC that was given to me by Joe C @JACarbone. Thanks Joe. I whipped up a nice amount of Stirling goodness for at least 3 passes. I did my usual 2 passes However, decided to go for the 3rd pass not because it was warranted, but because I had enough lather and did not want to waste it.
BBS was the result without any incidents that would mar this shave. Slight alum feedback was noted, but it was expected considering the aggressiveness of the razor and doing a 3rd pass to obtain a very, very close shave. Splashed on the FA Platinum aftershave and I am good to go. Take care.

You're welcome Chris. I never bought into using preshave products because most of them are soaps so I find it redundant. It's an added expense that I don't need. I sometimes bloom my soaps and use the bloom water as a preshave. However, I am not saying someone shouldn't buy and use preshaves because some shavers have sensitive skin and/or coarse beards that it would be beneficial to use them. Wetshaving is a journey that allows for experimentation to find what methods and techniques works best for you. Unfortunately, most shavers just shave nilly willy with cartridges and don't experience the virtues of traditional wetshaving.

Thanks Chris. I said that because I wanted to let prospective wetshavers know that once you master straight shaving that it is easy. It takes practice, perseverance and a steady hand.
