There’s another soap named Absolute Zero made by Captain Nemo in Kolkata, India and it’s so bloody cold that it gives the Stirling Glacials some stiff competition. This is no joke - it can knock you for a loop if you can’t tolerate intense menthol. It has a very nice aquatic scent and those menthol fumes can cause tearing eyes, it’s a pleasure to lather, and it’s very skin friendly.

This Bombay Shaving Company cream is so nice - it has a very pleasant scent, it lathers beautifully, it’s really slick, it has a mild menthol sensation, and it gives excellent skincare. The Prep and the Aqua Velva were a perfect finishing combo. Another awesome three pass BBS shave which left me feeling great!

The Tabac Shaving Soap lathered well with the @twhite 's B400 Two-band Badger brush. I got oodles of wonderful lather. Two passes and touch ups (almost didn't need touch ups) with the Bunny V3 Injector Razor with the NOTSO comb and a Supply Black Label Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

DE SOTD, Tuesday, April 18th 2023, Testing some Older Sputnik blades(extra wide).

Razor : Yaqi Sentinel 1.5mm gap 316L Stainless steel with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SS Darwin style handle, Mfg 2022>, mild to tame mid range depending on blade used. Machining and Finish QC are great. This Sentinel razor gives me irritation free , yet very close shaves has been my experiences with about 8 shaves in. I have finally found a extra wide blade that is designed for this style of alignment with the 4 corner posts using the blade tabs for blade centering and alignment and it is a older Sputnik Teflon coated SS blade. After some research and buying the different New & Old blades from different online sellers it is obvious the older blades work well in the new 4 corner post alignment with a good old Sputnik Teflon coated blade also. This morning shave was close and comfortable with no drama with my Yaqi Sentinel razor IMO.
Blade : Older Sputnik Teflon coated blade extra wide(1), sharp & smooth with longevity is unknown yet? When Gillette(P&G) took over this brand in St Petersburg they made the new Sputnik line to Gillette blade standards is my conclusion. Kai SS blade extra wide wins as last standing extra wide blade still being MFG today.
Soap : Gillette Pure cream, nice clean scent with excellent lather qualities, makes excellent ubber lather with other soaps also.
Brush : Yaqi "Orbital ring" 24mm boar bristle knot, excellent lather generator, soft split end boar bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Yaqi Sentinel razor with a older Sputnik Teflon coated blade.

- Razor: Razorine Flatboy with a King C Gillette blade.
- Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia synthetic
- Cream: Proraso Red
- Postshave: Thayers Witch Hazel, followed up with leftover cream on the brush. Followed up later with Nivea sensitive balm and then Stirling Deep Blue Sea post shave balm.

The KCG blade works nicely in the Flatboy. I nicked myself in a few spots, but overall the shave itself was pretty comfortable. So I think for me a coated blade in this razor is the way to go.

The Yaqi brush is awesome. It arrived yesterday. It generates and holds a ton of lather. I definitely see why it’s a favorite for so many.

I hadn’t tried Thayers in awhile. I wanted to see if it would help with my skin issues. It seemed to but I still had some rash and irritation which led me to user the balms. I noticed today when using the Razor Emporium preshave soap in the shower that it appears to cause an allergic reaction so I am going to discontinue it and see if that makes a difference.
