  4. Great outline Joe! I particularly like "Maximum May" and "Merkur May". I might add "Modern May" and use only modern (non vintage) razors.

  6. Thanks Herm, but it is I, who should be thanking you! I wasn't thinking of Modern May! That's why I always ask the guys to think of a theme that you would want to enjoy. I an going to use your idea for next year.

  7. Mayhem was a lot of fun. Maybe I should pull some of the old tools out of mothballs. The two blade splint was the most difficult to shave with.
I hope you are all doing well
    Have fun!

  9. Hi Brian. Thanks for showing us your past shave Mayhem ingenuity. Anyway, it's always good to see an old-time 30DC member dropping in to post a nugget or two. Don't be a stranger and have a good week.

    Greetings,

    Early morning Shave,

It's been a while since I last used the inexpensive Wilkinson Sword Classic razor which for me is always a pleasure to shave with.

The two-piece design of the razor makes it easy to load the blade, covering the full blade with no exposure of the blade edges a brilliant safety feature especially for shaving sensitive areas without the risk of getting Cuts & nicks from the blade ends which was a great bonus for me when I first introduced myself to the wonderful world of traditional wet shaving.

The Blade gap is considerably smaller than the newer sibling the WS premium TTO model, but it still gives an acceptable presentable shave. Paired together with the GWS(Saloon Pack) made a smooth efficient duo....A great inexpensive razor that will always be part of my razor rotation.

The WS shave stick is a wonderful shave stick it's surprising how much of a good lather you get from this humble shave stick.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick-ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

    Menthol/Maximum/Mixing-It-Up/Merkur/Modern May.

    36 hours
    Proraso Menthol face prep
Tabac, Puro Tasso Boar, Eversharp Injector, Thayers, Tabac AS Lotion.
Tomorrow I will try and get the Tabac lather even thicker. It does not seem to dry out as fast as the Arko did.

The SE is more efficient than most of my DEs so I took care and was rewarded with a pleasant close shave.

  13. Wonderful shave this morning. I might look into this razor as I need a new travel razor since my Dollar Tree, the razor in the Northern Den, rusted and the TTO door fell off.
    Cheap enough on Amazon.
  14. Very nice shave Chris.

    SRS # 873 - 1508.5 Project - Calle Ocho

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Taylor Eyewitness 1000
    Brush: Classic Shaving Silver Blue
    Lather: Lather Bros. Calle Ocho
    Aftershave: PAA Black Bot
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Man oh man is this soap a lather monster! I pressed an almond sized scoop into the bowl and wound up with an overflowing of lather onto the sides of the bowl. Easily I could have done a 6 pass shave. I get phenomenal lathers with this soap no matter which type of knot I use. Agsin, too bad this artisan is no longer producing soap as I would purchase from them in a heartbeat.
I had a very close three pass shave with the Taylor straight. I did develop a few weepers following the third pass. No big deal as the alum and witch hazel took care of the issue. I am smelling good with the PAA Black Bot splash.

Hope you all have an enjoyable day.
  16. Thanks Joe

  18. Gordon Lightfoot died yesterday at 84. He was the songwriter and singer of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Some of us refer to the song by saying that we Fitzgerald or are in the process of Fitzgeralding our soaps.
In memory of Lightfoot, I downloaded a video of him performing this song in Chicago in 1979.
  19. Wonderful Wilkinson shave Barry! I may be wrong, but this is the first shave post with all Wilkinson items. Have a nice afternoon!
