  1. Well, there's no doubt about it...I'm doing a South-to-North direction for the middle of Cactus Nation(neck). The results are more to my liking. . One pass. Zero on cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots. I ran the Gillette can under the warm tap water. Should make a habit of this. The Royal Copenhagen, while it smells great, has a peep hole about the size of Aqua Velva. Boy, I learned that lesson quick! But it was OK. Now I am prepared for next usage(which will be tomorrow). Closed out with Passion 4 Men by the House pf Elizabeth Taylor. I smell clean and refreshed-ready for Tabac Tuesday(course you see I didn't use any Tabac-chuck yuk yuk). Super Duper Outstanding.
  2. Much obliged Joe. New challenges for May await...:shaver

  3. Great setup and shave Joe! I have heard that you can save the unused lather for the next shave. Cover the bowl with a paper towel so dust doesn't contaminate the lather. The next day you just have to wet the brush to bring back the lathe. Of course, this works when you have plenty of lather from the previous shave. I don't know if I would try it because I would just do a headshave in conjunction with a faceshave.

  4. Thank you Joe...It's a very near all Wilkinson Sword items shave, apart from the AS splash of which i don't have...It was a mild but very enjoyable shave.

I haven't brought out Artie since February so it was time to bring it out.
I also haven't used TSD Irish Spring SS in awhile because quite honestly, I don't care for it. The scent is non-existent and the lather is meh. Although as you can see by the picture below, you might think that I am crazy.

The slickness is adequate and that's the most positive thing I can say about this soap. I have 2 other 4 oz tubs that I have to burn through. The sacrifices one must make when one wetshaves. Lol! I videod this session and you will see that the soap is not voluminous. However, it is adequate for shaving. I did a 3 pass shave for a nice result without any errors. You guys don't want to see blood. On the other hand, maybe you do. Lol! There wasn't any alum feedback. Splashed on the matching aftershave to end the shave. The aftershave is also a disappointment because the scent isn't there as well. Thankfully, these items didn't cost me anything because I won a TSD gift card. I would really be upset if I had to shell out some green paper. Take care.

  13. Great intro, Joe! I didn't read it before shaving today, so I ended up doing "Merely Shaving May" today... For future shaves, I will do Menthol, Merkur and Mix It Up.

I think I will pass on the Cinco de Mayo Mayhem this year though! In past years, I have shaved with things like a paint scraper blade. Those shaves took a lot of concentration and while "interesting", didn't make for a relaxing "fun" shave.

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black injector with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label (6)
Brush: Semogue cherrywood SOC re-knotted with Tuxedo synthetic
Soap: TOBS Lavender Shave Cream (croap)
Post: Rinse, alum, and TSD Lavender Shave Milk

My tub of TOBS was almost untouched when I left the lid a bit loose and allowed it to dry out. What you see in the photo is a nearly full tub of shaving cream with the water content evaporated...

My last shave was April 21, so an 11-day stubble to mow. I was shaving in a hurry today, so only did one pass. It took me from hobo to "mostly" cleanshaven -- I noticed later that I missed a small patch of a few whiskers on the right side of my throat. The alum was silent though, so the quick and dirty single pass - WTG on the face and ATG on the neck - was error-free as far as blood, nicks, or razorburn is concerned.

Entire shave from opening the shave cream tub to splashing on the aftershave took about three minutes.
  15. Thank you Joe. Interesting idea but with north of 80 soaps in both dens I am incline to pass.
