  2. I am worried that I might not finish my 13 pucks plus samples, let alone the 80+ soaps you have. Lol!
Well, I am sure you will encourage Anthony to help you Fitzgerald your stock when he becomes of age.

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: ERN 1820 5/8”
Brush: Wolf Whiskers 24 mm Maggard Tux Synthetic
    Lather: Barrister & Mann Nordost
    Aftershave: B & M Nordost
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Wonderful smoked citrus shave this morning. The customary three pass shave with the Ern straight razor delivered a super smooth and close shave. One minor nick on my left cheek will be chalked up to user error, poor set down on one pass.

Hope you all have a great day.

    24 hours growth.
Usual face prep including Proraso Green with Menthol.

Tabac soap, less loading today, less water compared to yesterday, less overall volume but still nice and thick.
I really like this, favourable comments from my lovely wife.
Puro Tasso Boar brush. White lather bowl.

Razor: GEM G-bar (2) with Personna PTFE (2).
Post: Warm and cold water rinses. Thayers.
    Four splashes of Tabac aftershave.

2 passes with some light touch ups needed to produce a very satisfactory shave for the day at work.
I did not need to push this to a 3rd pass or need to do much ATG. I find that interesting.

Very pleasing post shave feel to the skin thanks to the Tabac products.

The Gem G-bar performed well. Nice weight and grip to the handle. Lather was nice and thick so it did not perhaps rinse quite as well between passes, but maybe this added to the protection, it certainly was a different feel to the shaves I have with my DE razors, in some ways more efficient. But somehow safer around the chin and Adams Apple trouble spots. Funny that.

Very interesting, so far only used two of my small collection of SE razors, I am feeling comfy with them both.

Great to see everyone’s fantastic shaves, setups and comments.

  12. Nice shave Joe. I hate it when the shave is going along nicely, and I screw it up by landing the blade incorrectly and giving me a memory line. Everything, it happens. Enjoy your day.

  13. Terrific shave and input Chris! Whenever I use Tabac, I always get a great shave. It is slick and easy to lather. Enjoy your day!

  18. May 3 SOTA

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #449
    6/8 Thiers-Issard Spartacus
    Gillette Heritage Razor
    Gillette Platinum DE (3rd use)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 23 hrs
    Dome Turf: 2 days

    20230503_155517.jpg

It's a rare face and dome shave for me. I went with the Thiers-Issard Spartacus for my face and neck, and the Gillette Heritage for my dome. Obviously, I had to make enough lather for this above-the-shoulder shave.

    20230503_160437.jpg

I only needed 2 passes with my straight and 3 passes with my DE and pickups for the dome. Happily, my shave was bloodless. I got near BBS all the way around. The alum feedback was negligible on my neck and non-existent everywhere else. Splashed on the matching aftershave and I am feeling refreshed and clean. Take care.
  19. Most excellent shave Chris
