Decided that I am going to go straight, shavette and safety razor in that order, and continue it through the entire month of May. Schick E-3 got the call for today’s shave. Love Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender, but the scent has finally died down. I probably have just about an ounce left to finish it. Anyway, it always makes a nice, creamy lather.



I did my usual 2 passes, but I had enough soap so I did a third pass. I ended with a BBS shave without incident. Did get a nice dose of alum feedback on my neck, but I expected it because the Schick E-3 is QUOTE aggressive and coupled with the Pella Blade makes it more so. However, I didn't get any alcohol burn from the matching aftershave. Go figure! Take care mes amis.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Original Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Wilkinson Sword Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Erasmic Shave Cream.
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum. (D2)
Razor: Parker 94R.

Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel. / P&G Old Spice Bearglove ASL Spray./Wilko Men's Moisturiser.

Another great inexpensive shave to end my shaving week off on a high.

The hefty efficient Parker 94R has performed wonderfully throughout the week with both Dorco PP blades.

The star highlight of this week was my Head/dome shave with the Gillette Guard at the weekend...I was pleasantly surprised by how good its performance & shaving ability was which was i have to say equal to my Injector razors. Very impressive indeed.

Another enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Wilko Men's Moisturiser.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.

Another super shave and lovely set up Barry. You have what seems like a complex Post: facial treatment. I doubt you would get that in a barber shop. Do those menthol crystals dissolve easily enough in your home made mixture? Sounds like you have that down pat!

I see you use the moisturiser after the ASL. I was wondering which came first, the after shave or the facial lotions: so far I have only tried using Cerave facial lotion twice now, both times after the after shave, seems to work OK.

 

Thanks Gary, nope it may look that way but the gold colour coating does look like it has some wear. Very generous PIF from one of the forum members, and I am learning to like it more, still to be careful with it though.

 

Yes Joe, I get your point about autopilot, that pretty much explains it. I guess with a straight or shavette you would be more likely to want to stay really focused.
The joy of shaving is it teaches me to slow down in our otherwise hectic modern lifestyle.

 

Au contraire mon ami, you do yourself an injustice, I searched for exactly that Stoylin Executive Man and landed up in an Ozzie shaving forum which pointed me to Artisan Arcade in Melbourne which stock your favourite Stoylins! just for us down under in Oz and NZ. Just ordered a few samples, hopefully the menthol will arrive before the end of May!
