Hi Joe and thanks

It was a bit cool I suppose, still waiting for some real Menthol to arrive, I do love the Tabac, it lingers for a long time.

 

Now THIS is the kind of shave I hope to get from n9w on with Bill Neumann . Or maybe it means the further on down you go in the puck, the more soap jumps onto the brush? I'll call that a "Pythagorean Theory". I'm making SOME prOHgress with the puck, little by little. 2 passes. Goose eggs for the cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. South-to-North for the first pass, the opposite way foe the second. Skin feels clean and soft all over, which Bill Neumann is famous for. The one area
I keep missing is the jawline, just above the Ingrown Hairs(rught side). It's a work in prOHgress. I'll try to get that tomorrow. Super Duper Outstanding overall.

 

Monday May 15 - Menthol & Matching Monday in May

Prep: Hot water face wash
Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black injector with SE open comb / Supply Black Label (7)
Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 Synthetic
Soap: Stirling Iced Pineapple
Post: Rinse, alum, cold rins, Clubman Osage Rub, Stirling Iced Pineapple splash

My last shave was May 2, so I had a 13-day short beard to remove.

I couldn't remember what my monthly themes were, but remembered that Menthol Monday used to be a thing, so I decided to do that and use matching soap and splash for it. (It turns out my declared planned themes were Menthol, Merkur and Mix-It-Up. Oh well, one out of three isn't bad.).

I was looking through my old accumulated shave pictures lately and noticed the Stirling Iced Pineapple in one from November 2018. So I have had the set for nearly five years and have only used it once or twice. I decided it was time to break it out again.

Stirling always lathers easily and these beef tallow soaps provide a slick, cushioned shave. The pineapple scent was still quite noticeable and the menthol chill was definitely there.

I did a two-pass shave today: WTG on the face and ATG on the neck, the XTG on the face and WTG on the neck. The result was a DFS. Alum was silent.

I then went all-out on the Menthol theme, first splashing on the strong Osage Rub and then doing the Iced Pineapple splash on top. Twenty minutes later, my face still feels brisk and breezy.

Great shave John! It's funny but I just shaved with Cryogen for a head a face shave. It's a great feeling! Take care.

I definitely need a head and face shave this morning so I picked my mildest razor to do a face and headshave with significant stubble. I don't think I ever used this razor for a 3 day Dome Turf and a 2 day face shave in one session. Ok, that is as May Mayhem as I get. Lol! I decided to do a Menthol Monday shave so I picked the mother of all menthol soaps. Yes, Cryogen is the freeze your face off experience. It is slick and provides a nice, creamy lather.



I did 2 passes on my face without touchups and 3 passes on the dome with some touchups for a BBS and cueball smooth shave, respectively. There weren't and knicks, cuts, weepers, creepers, irritation, bubbles or troubles. The alum feedback was quiet all around. Splashed on the matching aftershave that refreshed the cool Menthol experience. Stay cool.
