    Ikon S3S stainless steel razor.
    Rapira Platinum Lux blade (2).
Shore Shave Cool Water Mint Ribbon synthetic brush.
    Tabac Shave soap.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.
    Cremo Bourbon and Oak EdT.

I'm pleased with the way the S3S finished up. The straightened safety bar is barely noticeable and the polish job turned out better than I expected. I had to slightly bend the top cap because someone at one time had put the baseplate in upside down and tighten the handle down. This pulled the center of the cap down causing a slight bend. I small arbor press and a little time got the cap back to where it needed to be.

    Now onto the shave......

First run with the Ikon S3S. :happy108: Three passes with no blood loss but the alum was a little warm. This head requires a steep angle but once you find that angle it does an excellent job. It is head heavy and probably could benefit from a longer and heavier handle. I will experiment in that direction latter on. I have never been a fan of the wave handles for some reason. I have a Weber Classic and ATT Colossus handles that may par up nice. Overall it was an enjoyable shave and I just need to spend more time with the S3S.

The Shore Shave is a gorgeous brush but don't let that fool you....it can whip up some great lather in no time.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable day!

Great setup and shave Barry. The lavender/citrus scent sounds awesome. I had tried Stirling's Lavender and Bergamot but I would guess it is a much darker scent than your HMF Soap. Enjoy your afternoon.

A nice Throwback Thursday shave, with my Fine products(which arrived Wednesday-right on schedule). Very impressed at how baby-butt soft my face and neck feel after adminmistering the soap. It's interesting that Fine soaps are "made in Italy"(as he has an Italian agent working in concert with him), yet the Latigo ia an Austrian soap prepared in 1925. Course Italy and Austria aren't that far apart, so perhaps the Italian agent has an AUSTRIAN agent in turn. Aahh, who is to say? Anwway, I couldn't quite pick up a leather scent(as Latigo is famous for its leather), but perhaps the 21st century version does a better job in combining the leather scent with that of its other ingredients. As for the aftershave, first sniff resulted in me saying "Hey, this is quite similar to Stoylin Unscented". but a check of SU got me thinking otherwise. It's a nice scent, though. A reviewer said "this IS the real Knize10!". I can't comment, as I just have the Latigo. Mr. Fine gives us a lighter version of Knize10 as he says it is "inspired" by Knize 10), thus we get the IDEA of the real thing, but it's a little different. I suppose it's true that other artisans of which we are aware do this, too. As, for the shave itself, I almost stopped after the first pass-that's how soft my skin was. But I went ahead with the second., not wanting to waste the remainder of the soap on the brush. Zero cuts, one Knick(just off the lower-lip, right side)and no PolkaDots. Super Duper Outstanding.

Thanks Gary. It was apparently not treated to well. It would be interesting to know its history. Why a high end razor like that was not babyed I don't know. It has a loving home now and can enjoy its retirement. :D

    Take care.
