I am going out tonight so I decided to do a head and face shave. I also picked the Stirling Spice set because it is appropriate for this evening's get together. Besides, it smells nice.

I decided to use my biggest shaving metal bowl because I figured that I would make an abundance of lather for this session. I usually use my other metal bowl, but I haven't used this one for quite some time.
Here's the result of my bowl lather:



Did a 2 pass face shave and a 3 pass headshave without any errors. Had to do some touchups on the dome, but that is always the case. I am smooth around. Slight alum feedback on the neck, but everywhere else was silent. Splashed on the matching aftershave and then appropriately applied the EdT. I smell and look great. Take care.

Fresh early morning walk, Lazy Sunday shave, 48 hours, 3 passes plus touch ups. Gillette Slim Set on 6, then 6 then 4. Day 2 of Gillette 7 o’clock. May still want a sharper blade or use the Slim on higher setting. Heavy loading by pressing/splaying my Boar brush into the Executive Man.
Still not impressed by this particular Stirling soap. It’s fine, but if I had to take one soap to a desert island MWF would be my preferred option atm. Getting close to the end of my ProRaso green pre-shave (mild menthol). Does it actually do anything? Probably not: I used it on only one side of my face and afterwards I was hard pressed to notice any difference. Usual post shave routine followed by Proraso Rinfrescante ASL. L'instant de Guerlain Pour Homme EdP >>>>> very pleasant. Light, understated, almost smoky, lingering. Hmm, delightful.

Small sample pack arrived this week, it will be interesting to see I how I go with these.

I an looking forward to see what you are getting from Maggards. As I mentioned earlier, Joe is physically stronger than I am so he can have the Beastmode title. I would say he is also a Lather Master. I am very fortunate that we live near each other so that we meet for our monthly Long Island Chapter of the 30DC crew.

 

Very nice shave Chris! I used to go full throttle on my adjustables, but I have learned that it wasn't necessary. I agree that if a blade does not feel sharp, then going up a setting or two will make a difference, but only for so long. My rule is generally 5 shaves and then bin the blade. I get more with some blades and less with others. For instance, I don't usually go beyond 3 shaves with a Feather and no more than 7 with a Rockwell.

You have a varied Stirling sample. I liked the Bergamot Lavender and the Barbershop
The Barbershop has a powdery scent and the Bergamot Lavender has a nice, tart scent. I can speak for the rest because I haven't tried them. From what I've read, Black Cherry smells like a cough drop. Orange Chill would be in my wheelhouse because I like citrus and Menthol. I am not a Margarita guy so I would not have it in my den. In any event, looking forward to your opinions on those scents. Lather: Scottish Fine Classic Shaving Soap.
Blade: Vidyut/Supermax Super Stainless. -(D2)
Razor: Parker 94R.

Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse/Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./ Denim Original ASL. / Creightons Sensitive PSB.

A wonderful performance from the Semogue 1470....My re-found fondness for my humble boar brushes this year grows with each outing.

A close comfortable 2 pass +pick ups shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Creightons Sensitive PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Awesome shave and setup Barry! I only have 2 boar brushes and find them to be good latherers and run smooth on my skin. I have a Semogue badger, but not their boar so I cannot comment on their quality. Enjoy your afternoon.

Fantastic shave this morning with the straight and a very nice lather from the Hendrix soap. Three superb passes has left my face feeling refreshed and super smooth. I do enjoy the scent of this soap. The scent profile is a follows: “This is a great Bay Rum. Its scent is primarily West Indies Bay Leaf, just like Pirates used hundreds of years ago. There is some orange zest to add depth. No Cloves or other distracting notes, just great Bay Rum.”
I do enjoy the citrus infused into the bay rum.

Not the best Magnificent Goo shave I expected this morning, but it will have to do. Same arsenal as yesterday. I left bits and pieces of astroturf almost everywhere. One pass. Zero Cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I didn't hold the Gillette Foamy under the warm tap water at the sink to soften it up some. That is what I'll blame it on.. In my case, Lack Of Technique Trumps Tools. I'll do better tomorrow as I go back to soas for 8 days. A Little Bit Oustanding.

 

No clove scent for HC&C Bay Rum? Worx for me.
