1. I just upgraded to the Apple Watch 8. Easier to read & has a few more health & safety functions.

  2. Recent thrift shop find. New battery cost me more than the watch did. pulsar 1.jpg

    1979, I think. Runs fine.
  4. Still ticking. Gray NATO.

  5. That is some true vintage coolness.

  6. Some friends found this old beauty while they were cleaning out some boxes, and it's on their way to me. If it is not too costly, I'll have the glass and second hand replaced and see if I can get it running. It looks like it was carried in someone's vest or pants pocket for many years. It will be interesting to research the serial and model numbers inside the case.

Wyler Incaflex windup...1950s? I know nothing about the brand but it's running great.

  12. Bad pic. Another from my Dad's stash. Westclox autowinder on a really nice expansion band.

Never been big on the look of the Eco-Drives but for $10 at a resale shop...well, you understand.

  15. On me, yep.
  16. Had to buy a suit at Belk, also got this blacked-out Seiko auto for half price. Gave my old red/blue Seiko quartz to my brother. I didn't think this thing could have lume but it does, a dim blue but it's visible enough. Have never had a new strap that already was so softly broken in as this one. Only minus is they didn't go with a non-reflective crystal.

Anyway, if you like the diver style, I recommend it.

  17. I saw this watch for sale and thought it interesting, especially the price. It's a Feel Never, and if you guessed it, it's made in China by Lige. Lige seems to be one of the better Chinese companies, with better quality. This is called a Deep Dive watch, and it has real good quality components. The case and band are made from Japanese stainless steel, with a quick release band and the movement is a Seiko quartz automatic. I looked online and Seiko automatic movements cost about the same or more than I paid for the watch. It has a waterproof rating of 500 meters and has a helium release valve. It mentions that it has tritium for illumination, but I think it's just a name for their process. But the luminescence is brighter than other watches I have, and lasts longer in the dark. Overall this is a very nice watch for the price. And if top brand companies made one like this, it would cost way more than this one.

Homely old Timex winder, circa 1980, from the $1 box at a flea market. Cleaned it up (it was nasty), polished the brass, then hit it with gun blue to contrast with the dial. Added an old leather band. Running fine. Ol' John Cameron would be proud.

  20. I need a watch badly, as I broke my Mom's birdsong clock. I enjoyed having it for 6 years. A different bird every hour.
