    Hey all,

Just doing some reading on Google and came across a webpage where the guy said a splash of Hydrogen Peroxide works wonders for razor burn and healing the skin. Never heard of this- any comments? I'm curious now...

H202 will oxidize oils native to the skin, which is why it commonly produces a disagreeable vinegary odor on the hands. I'd suggest witch hazel, it's not harsh and does good for skin.

I would second this. Witch hazel is generally found in the same aisle of stores as hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol.

Witch hazel and a small amount of unrefined shea butter gets my vote. I apply this morning and night, even on no-shave days.

Some object to the smell of shea butter, but I locked in on brand that's nearly odorless. I use it sparingly, mixed with witch hazel, and dab off any excess with a tissue. Works like a champ for me. I don't look a day over 125 years old. :)

Course you realize some soaps/aftershaves already HAVE shea butter in 'em. Can't do anything about THAT persuasion. I don't have a comment about that making you look 125. Having said that, let me make this comment. OHHNOOO.

:signs011: Witch hazel is very under rated ..... I use it every shave.

Said it before but I'm proud of my invention (as far as I know, I invented it) of powdered alum and dissolved menthol added to a bottle of witch hazel. You won't regret trying it, especially followed up with Lucky Tiger lotion. There's no burn they can't beat.
