Thank you Joe. The Dorco Prime Platinum are my favourite from the Dorco camp. Very smooth efficient & forgiving.

Thanks Paul, me too, I occasionally get some red spots/razor burn from going over and area too often, but not ingrowns yet. That would be uncomfortable I guess.

That's half the fun, I guess, got to keep things interesting. Yup, received that bowl in the mail last week after I was influenced earlier, I do like the size, the weight and it won't chip the sink or bathroom floor when dropped!

Wow Danny @Hembree, that is a super score. Good luck with those. Keep snooping around those shops!

1 ½ days growth, early morning Saturday shave before a refreshing early morning walk. 6 degrees C outside so no Menthol today!

Face Prep = my usual 3 x 30sec Hot Water Soaks. No Pre-shave.
Soap = T & H Sandalwood again. Fair enough lather but I think this is a good candidate for super-lather treatment.
    Brush = Old Vulfix
Lather Bowl = Black Timeless Razor
Razor = Decided to try the Muhle Rocca R96 again, I had used this earlier on in my wet shaving hobby and did not like it / cope with it.
Blade = Derby Premium (1) this had previously worked well for me.

Post = Warm Water Rinse Cold Water Rinse. Alum was fine. Thayers.
ASL = sample of Clubman Pinaud Clubman, it resulted in more stinging than usual but is has a lovely scent.

Needed 3 full passes and numerous clean ups. Good to be able to adjust to different hardware on the fly as it were.
Damage= minor weeper lower left chin, an area of rough skin. This area needed numerous passes to clean up, hence the weeper.

Residual = found some residual stubble lower right side of neck after I had finished. My stubborn patch.

Overall = 8/10. More relaxed shave than Thursday night.
In hindsight I think I could have benefited from some pre-shave with this razor and blade combo, but have run out for the moment.
Could I use this razor everyday? Maybe not at this stage. Maybe with a different blade. I will park it for a while again. Being heavier it needed more care than, say with Vintage Gillette, but still doable.

Have a great weekend, have some great shaves.

(Oh yes: I do love this lather bowl. )

    Good afternoon.

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (7)
Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (3,4)
    Hembree/Maggard Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Intrepid Man SS
    Stirling Frankincense and Myrrh AS
    Beard Growth: 24.5 hrs
    Dome Turf: 2 days.

    20230603_171149.jpg

I was just going to do a headshave, but decided to do a face shave as well. I went with the Fatboy on setting 7. I see the end of the tunnel with this soap so I am glad about it. I just was ok with the scent, but its performance is always spot on fantastic for the price point. Thanks Andrew, @Linuxguile wherever you are. I really hydrated this lather as you can see the sheen on the soap.

    20230603_172022.jpg

I changed my technique for my headshave. For the first pass, I went XTG on the sides and back to front (ATG). I usually go front to back and then north and south on the sides. Second pass, North and South on the sides instead of XTG and front to back instead of ATG. 3rd pass ATG on the sides and XTG in the back like I normally would do.
Two pass face shave was WTG and then a mix of ATG and XTG. I had some touchups on my head, but none for the face.
The result was an error-free BBS shave all around.

The alum gave me negligible feedback all around so I was quite pleased with it. I was surprised that the Stirling Frankincense and Myrrh AS went well with the Intrepid Man scent. I have enough of this aftershave that I need to use it on my soaps that have little to no scent. I am not planning on buying the Frankincense and Myrrh in the soap or aftershave because I didn't care for it. Anyway, splashed on the aftershave and no burning was the result of a smooth and comfortable shave. Take care.

    Greetings,

    A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

The Kent/MWF as always provided me with a wonderful protective slick lather for the shave leaving an excellent post shave feel...I could easily shave with this shave set up forever, but like everyone else I like variety with my shaves.

A close comfortable 2 pass +pick ups shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Creightons Sensitive PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

Great shave this Sunday morning. I repeated yesterday's Clubman with an "all-Barbershop" today(but for the razor). The last time I used my Clubman brush, I had my doubts of the thing, but back then I didn't have a Stoylin bodywash, as I do today. It's a small brush-smaller even than the Stoylin "li'l brudder"(speakina Stoylin). 2 passes. The Razorock American Barber soap did me good again. . Zero across the board with Cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots. The Clubman use began in the shower with Country Club Shampoo and continued before the shave with Clubman Hair Gel. Clubman A.S. to finish. No cologne, as when you have Clubman, you don't need a cologne(I could go on TV and say that lol), Super-Duper Outstanding.

    SRS #’s 893 & 894- Gemini Shave - Fredrick Reynolds - Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood - B & M Sandalwood

    Razor: Frederick Reynolds 5/8”
Brush: Shore Shave Cool Mint Water 24 mm Synthetic
    Lather: Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood
    Aftershave: B & M Sandalwood
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
Two fabulous shaves the past two morning’s. Yesterday was another celebration of Anthony’s 13th birthday with some of his classmates. The weather was more like mid October with temperatures in the low 60s. That did not stop the boys from going in the pool.

Today we are off to Citifield to watch the Mets.

I had my usual three pass shave. The warmth of the Vanilla Sandalwood soap and Sandalwood splash is perfect for another cooler day.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
