    Greetings,

Early morning Shave, (Pre 60th Birthday Shave.)

I have said this in many of my posting that the Haslinger Schafmilch & Lanolin soap is an incredible shaving soap. like all of the Haslinger soaps i've tried it doesn't get top marks for it's fragrance but My skin type really likes shaving soaps with lanolin added to the ingredients, the post shave feeling from it is absolutely superb.

A enjoyable early comfortable pre 60th birthday face & head shave with no errors to report....Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Thanks Joe. It's almost a barbershop type scent. It's a bit hard to identify. Not much citrus. But not bad overall.

Thanks Joe, My lathers are fine at the moment, but there is always room for improvement.

    Lol!

Thanks Joe @Trigger, I did read that and viewed the tutorial. Just my private little challenge to myself....;)

    24 hours, Tabac Tuesday
    06 Jun 2023.jpg

Gillette Flare tip, Derby Premium (1) Tabac cream, Puro Tasso badger
Face prep with hot water and Hair Conditioner bar
3 pleasant passes with no problems
Tabac ASL and balm, very nice scent but doesn't last as long during the day as I would like
    Remnant sandpaper right lower neck
Tabac cream worked out fine enough, it doesn't dry out as fast as some, but could be thicker/slicker.
    Fine shave, 8/10.

Nice shave and setup Chris. Once I am done with Sturling Intrepid SS, I just might use my Tabac stick. It makes a nice lather and I love the smell.

I got an E-mail from Mr.Fine, asking me to review my Latigo. I have it up for later in the week-I'll do it then.

    Good Morning.

I decided to use my new razor this morning and try out the Dorco Blade for the very first time. I have seen and heard mixed reviews of this blade so I decided to shave an under 20 hr stubble so that the razor blade wouldn't have to much trouble. I did this just in case the blade wasn't sharp enough for a full day stubble.

I used my very first shave bowl. It is bendable plastic so it is very hard to keep it in place while bowl lathering, but it works. All my bowls were under $2.00, except my porcelain bowl which was under 3 dollars. You really don't need to spend beaucoup dollars to get a bowl suitable for lathering.

    20230606_111815.jpg

Did a 2 pass shave for a comfortable near BBS shave. Did get a weep on the corner of my mouth. I don't think the blade would do well with a 30 hr or above stubble because it left behind some hairs. Maybe this blade needs to be in a more aggressive razor so I am not completely writing this blade off by any means. Using this razor for the first time had a slightly different feel than my VdH razor. I would have thought that they would feel the same because they are identical razors. Go figure.

The alum gave some feedback. Splashed on the aftershave and felt some burn. This may be indicative of the blade in that it may not be smooth. Again, I have to use these blades in different razors on a heavier stubble to make a final determination. Take care.

cheers.:).after many shave sessions recently with this generation aristocrat i have come to really enjoy it.it's the smoothest of the 4 gens and very efficient, similar to the #58 but with more weight.in reality i could use this razor exclusively and ditch the rest, though i don't see that happening any time soon.;):eatdrink047:the c & e balm is awesome and i wish i had a back up bottle.thankfully i have a stash of soap and cologne.the whole package topped off with Jason's walnut brush and soap bowl.:)
