Friday mail call is from The Wet Shaving Store. Today I got Ginger’s Garden/Wet Shaving Store Shave Dad Facebook group’s Royal Pine shave soap and aftershave; as well I also got Alien Shaves Kabam shave soap and aftershave.
Look what I found at a local antique/ fleamall today. A bag of razors for $10.00 and a 1921 old type for $7.00...it was 30% off. There is some great little Schicks in the group. They just need a spa treatment and put back into service.
Is that a Type J with a Hydro-Magic lever? I have heard of them, but never saw one until now. I remember the yellow handled Schick razors hanging on the grocery store pegs way back when. (I'm old). With a little clean up, that is a very good buy. I love soap encrusted razors that are in good shape and have a dirt cheap price tag.
The Type J with Hydro-Magic lever is a Golden 500. Same razor in several Lady Schick versions as well.
My hauls are getting less frequent... but this arrived today. Mainly ordered this to get the tallowate MWF, didn't want to stock up on more, but added some other options. What's this blue stuff they threw as a free sample, wait it's toothpaste! Very nice of them.
Carl I believe it is a J and it does have the lever. I think it is the the 500 Golden Hydro Magic. The picture below is not mine but show what the bottom side of mine looks like. I just need to get a little time and get cleaned up and give it a test run. I love cleaning old razors up and using them again. Take care.

Jim it is a Schick adjustable but I don't know anything about it. Maybe someone will chime in that has more knowledge about it.
