Thanks again, it is fun, the thing is that up to now, with Stirling at least, I don't think I have done enough brush swirling, but once the lather comes out "just right" it is worth it maybe it is just the tallow based soaps that need a bit of extra effort.

Thanks Gary I like my rockets, esp the HD, tomorrow I will bring out my Aristocrat again as a comparison, I need to go back to my other razors too but the Gillette keep calling me

Quite good shave this morning-similar to the other day, in which everything was great. Just like the other day, though , one glitch this time -a cut at S. Porcupine Alley(chin). The large un-named synthetic was a magnet to the Razorock soap. I got a lot of it. By the way, a correction-the soap is a Shaving Cream Soap. 2 passes. Fine work as usual from my Bill Neumann A.S. In fact, it calmed down the cut(skin-food). Closed out with Mutamayez cologne fom House of Swiss Arabian. Most Outstanding.

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #459
    Herder Ace of Spades
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    Arko SS
Stirling Blood on Steel 2019 TSD LE
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 23 hrs

I had a nice 2 pass shave that was close and comfortable. Weep should up and disappeared on my first pass when I quickly dabbed it with the alum.
Arko always gives me a creamy, slick lather.

There was very little alum block feedback. Splashed on the last of the Stirling BoS aftershave. It's similar to Tsuka, but I liked the BoS scent much more. Take care.

Prep: The usual, but back to ProRaso pre-shave for a while, the bar hair conditioner works fine but it just makes my hands too slippery

    Gillette Aristocrat + Gillette 7 o’clock Green (1)
Timeless Bowl + Omega 10049 + Stirling Orange Chill
Full scoop of soap pressed into the bottom centre of the bowl followed by maybe 3 - 4 minutes of brush work = super thick and slick lather
3 passes were needed as usual + touch ups

Minor weeper at the intersection of zone 8 and 9 right lower Adam’s apple during the first pass, too much pressure here with a new blade
Alum matchstick took care of that

Post shave : Warm and Cold water rinse + Thayers + Brut ASL + Proraso AS balm + Jo Malone Cologne
    My wife approves

Super smooth / minor damage / minor stubble left over for another day

Just realised this is Monday, this was menthol shave despite the cold weather, still very pleasant though

Wishing you all a successful week ahead

Wonderful Cella Bio shave Barry. I love the freshness of the scent of the aftershave. I have yet to pick up the soap.

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Sunday, June 11 2023 (just before midnight) - Just the Basics June

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless with SE open comb plate / Supply Black Label (8)
    Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 Synthetic
Soap: Red Green Duct Tape Special ( "frankensoap")
    Post: rinse, alum, rinse

The frankensoap is a mix of traditional rather soft Italian almond soaps all kneaded together: red tub Cella, red and green label Vitos coconut oil soaps, and Valobra soft almond soap plus a small sample of 3P. The result is a large jar of about a pound of soap - all similar, good basic soaps.

The damp synthetic quickly picked up a load of soap and easily worked up a thin, slick coating of lather on my face.

The Supply injector is always reliable provided I do my part. On its 8th outing, the Black Label blade felt slightly less sharp than I prefer, but was still adequate to remove a week's worth of stubble with one pass. (My last shave was on the 4th.). One pass doesn't get me BBS, but it is sufficient to make me look and feel respectably cleanshaven - and that's good enough. BBS only lasts a few hours anyway, so is only worthwhile just before an important event of some kind.

In my last post (last Sunday), I mentioned that I had broken off a piece of a molar. It was part of the rim of enamel surrounding a large filling. I thought I would either have to have the old filling removed and replaced with an even larger one, or else I would need a crown. Either way, a long, expensive and possibly painful process. Instead I lucked out and the tooth was a lot easier to repair than I expected.

I managed to get in to see my dentist early Tuesday morning. He found that the old filling was still intact and solidly in place, so he just cleaned the exposed surface of the filling and the surrounding edges of the remaining tooth and then used the dental equivalent of Bondo to fill in the gap. Took about half an hour, including the time waiting for the freezing to kick in.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and has a great week!
