    Menthol Monday:

Today’s Grand Freeze is brought to you by,

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/new Rapira
    MSC Frosted Lavender SS
    Thayer’s Lavender Witch Hazel
    Prep ASB
    MSC Frosted Lavender AS Splash
    Aramis EdT

Oh la la if this shave was any colder my face would have disintegrated - is this Frosted Lavender soap ever frigid. The scent is so gorgeous - to me it’s the classiest and most brilliant lavender scent I’ve ever had, the tallow formula gives it such awesome lather, the menthol sensation is easily a match for any of the Stirling Glacials, and it’s chock full of wonderful skincare. The Thayer’s Lavender witch hazel hardly has any scent but it gives great postshave care, the Prep is a godsend for sensitive skin like mine, and the Frosted Lavender aftershave is also witch hazel based so it never stings or burns, and the menthol kick is off the friggin charts - it also has the same lovely scent as the soap but it moves out of the way for any fragrance - the Aramis is another top favourite of mine. Three passes with the new Rapira blade helped ensure another first class BBS shave that was fit for a king!

Wishing you all a great week ahead - be well and stay safe![IMG]

MMMonday, June 12th, 2023. Micromatic Monday, any ASE razor that uses a Gem blade, any day of the week.

Razor : Ever-Ready (ASR) 1924(AKA-Shovel head)- Mfg 1924-33, mid range, well built and finish is great for a 100 year old razor. The razor was designed around the old thicker splined blade so I use a shim (RIGS) underneath the modern blade spline to tilt it more to smooth it out nicely. This is a nice razor with a different way of loading a blade with a hinged flip top cap and loaded from the rear. Close comfortable shave this morning!
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (5) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : TOBS Herbal Sandalwood, nice fragranced Herbal soap 6-7/10 for my nose + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Black marble" 24mm 3band silvertip badger, excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Big dense knot with a large splay, handle works very well in my hands.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse + Ogallala Bayrum and Sandal wood+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : 1-10 dial - Copy (2)3 template 9.5.1.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Excellent close shave with my Ever-ready 1924 razor with a Gem coated blade.

Maiden shave with this sweet MK 31. It just got back from some loving at the Gemstar Razor Spa and Resort - new shoes, new wedge, and new edge. Another @gssixgun edge joins the den and it provided a super, easy peasy, efficient and smooth shave :happy036:

I ventured into the world of menthol soap a few shaves ago with the Frosted Lavender. I had nothing to compare it to but I noted that if it was any colder my face would have burned. Quite the blast! :happy093:

A enjoyable early comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

    Tuesday morning:

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Rapira day 2
    Godrej Menthol SC
    Prep ASB
    Alt Innsbruck AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
    Bleu de Chanel EdP

The Godrej creams apparently were reformulated and although they were always excellent, now they’re even better - at least to me. The Menthol version has a different scent now because it’s clean and soapy, the lather is brilliant, it’s strongly mentholated but not in an overwhelming way, and it has very soothing, gentle skincare. I always admired and enjoyed Indian creams. The Prep delivered so generously on the postshave care, and the Alt Innsbruck aftershave’s lovely old school European scent has always been a favourite of mine - it also has a great menthol kick and the scent doesn’t interfere with the Bleu de Chanel. Three passes did me proud - another splendid BBS shave that was so pleasurable!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and stay safe![IMG]
