  3. Great picture, setup and shave Chris! I share the same sentiment about face lathering at the beginning of my journey. The turning point was that my soaps lost their scents due to water getting trapped in the sidewalls of the tubs and leaving them out to dry for 24 hrs. I find that I get a creamier lather from bowl lathering than face lathering.

  4. Not a GREAT Throwback Thursday shave this morning, but I was OK with it. Funny thing happened at the loading dock....I was loadind all of the brush EXCEPT the tips. I eventually got the tips good and loaded with the Jeeves Bay Rum, but it was a piece of work. The remaining soap in the tub is all around the perimeter, so I figured I'd go around the perimiter with the brush. It resulted in fine around the edges of the brush, but no soap at the tip. Solid paint job all over. 2 Cuts, no Knicks/polkadots. Both cuts were on Porcupine Alley(one N., one S.). The cold rinse and Aftershave neutralized them somewhat.Cactus(neck)looks good. Stephan B.R. gives you a good feel-certainly helps the overall shave. Mutamayez cologne to finish.(House of Swiss Arabian). Most Outstanding.

  5. very cool.i had or have every version of tech out there with 1 or 2 exceptions like ones made in Argentina or the clear plastic head prototypes.i like them all and the differences are miniscule at best.my favorites are the brit flat bottoms due to the years made and my obsession with things post war Britain.they all benifit from a nacet or any sharp blade.:):eatdrink047:

    Good afternoon.

I went with the King Cutter straight today. I also decided to go with TSD soap and aftershave. Although it's not a favorite, it does provide a slick and creamy lather.

I have facelathered my Shave Den soaps and I have to state that my lather is better whipping it in a bowl. My disappointment with this brand is that the scent strength off the puck is zero, but recently I have picked up the scent when I am bowl lathering, but it is still week and would give it a 1.5. The aftershave would be about a 2.5, but you have to vigorously shake it to get some semblance of the scent.

Anyway, I did an errorless 3 pass shave that gave me a smooth shave. The alum feedback was slight. Applied the aftershave and I am good to go. Take care.
  12. Looks like you need to have all of us over for a pint.

  17. Excellent shave Chris. I don’t mind the time afforded to do a bowl lather. I just appreciate the Zen moment of the entire shave. Time to myself with no one bothering me. Approximately 20 minutes, from start to clean up, of just Joe time.
