I saw a vintage electrician's Camillus knife for a very reasonable price.

The blades look in really great shape, but the scales have some cosmetic damage to take care of without affecting the patina of the bolster.

I grew up down the road of the factory.

I ordered yet another vintage Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip last week and should get it late this week. This is a 1960 in Mint condition.

I anticipate Arko being either discontinued or reformulated in the next few years, if not sooner. I figure if I buy it now, the scent will have mostly disapated by the time I ever get around to using it. As for the La Toja, the old tallow formula used to cause me irritation. I hear that the newer formulas have dialed back the mineral content, making it usable for people like me, and it's one of the better non-tallow soaps out there.

Edit: I'm not sure exactly why I've been on a traditional soap kick lately, when there are plenty of artisan style soaps I like. Maybe it's the combination of value + performance, plus a shrinking supply of manufacturers; where with artisan soaps, so much of the time I feel like I'm paying for scent and water.

seems like last of the old time mass produced soaps are finally calling time.most are are from countries that still use DE and such.as generations pass on there are less folks interested i guess.i have a few old school soaps stockpiled including a box of arko.artisans will come and go,but their product changes continuously,so i don't really stock up on it except for stirling.they seem to be on the ball enough to stick around.;)

Just imagine a stick of Arko going for big bucks on ebay. :p

The traditional part itself is a big draw for me. Grandpa didn't use a croap.

Some old blades for cheap. Not sure if the SEs are utility, the dispenser isn't familiar. O/w all (minus Valet and plats) will be used with pleasure.

I think Master Soap Creations is a hidden gem shave soap. I have several but love the Vintage Faberge as the Brut homage to me is spot on.

Bay Rum King has found another one. That looks very interesting. Hope it smells great!

Up until today, I hadn't considered myself royallty (sic)

BTW, it's only about two ounces, but the bottle and label are cool and the price ($13) was a deal...imo.

Very much so. As good if not better than my modern razors.
