Well, what I SAW was the year 1893 (on the cover). Ahhh, doesn't matter. as I could never be "one" with MWF.
Yeah, that was Mitchell's Wool Fat getting started, using an old 1893 recipe as a base for their hand and shower soaps. Then came the shampoo in the 70's, then the shaving soap, along with a packaging redesign for the U.S. market, that got adopted by the Brits.
I received 12 tallow Kent soap pucks this week, all from batch no. 9139. This will last me and a good friend quite a long time. As for storage, I double-bag them and place them in a basement closet where they stay cool. Between my stockpile of tallow Tabac and Kent soaps, I am set for a long while. My Bride refers to my tallow Kent soap pucks as lardy cakes. I think she was just relieved when I opened the box and there were no Clubman products in it.
Ingredients in one of Razorock's 'What the Puck' triple milled soaps. Has anyone used both?
I was just going t0 say "Make it 11 Kent soaps, send me one"but after seeing Ms. Charlie's commentary..let me say, she just saved you a Kent soap. Ask her if she recalls part of that John Denver song "When the sun's comin' up we got CAKES on the griddle".
Gary, thank you for liking it, but I think you recorded your reaction just as I was in the prOHcess of adding to itl
I ordered another 10 as well a few days ago, and now actually think I might not outlive my supply. I am absolutely certain I will outlive my supply of Arko and La Toja, as long as the Wool Fat lasts.
During dinner with my normal friends last night, I described the MWF reformulation "debacle" and how my fellow shaving nuts promptly cleared out the global sales inventory of tallow MWF. I boasted about our greater-than-lifetime supplies of shaving soap and how our descendants would be exceedingly pleased with our wise actions. I may have embellished the story just a bit. Regardless, everyone at the dinner tabled rolled with laughter.
Here's another Kent question for you, since you just ordered a dozen soaps. How can we find out how much we have to pay in $$$, when it just shows the English currency?
Yeah, I figureed they'd make it hard to figure out....someday I'll do just that. I thought Kent would do that in the checkout section of whatever you purchase. But thanks for this.
