This weekend has been busy and hot. I did not shave this weekend so the Ikon had it's work cut out for itself. The Ikon and the Silver Blue performed great together....three very nice passes with no problems.

Yes, it was time to bring out Max for this session. I am glad that I did. Max gave me a very nice, smooth shave in 3 passes. I made enough lather to do so as you can see:



I decided to do a 4th unshaved lather pass because I just love the über menthol kick.
The alum gave me very little feedback and that's very good for me on a 3 pass shave. However, I am not surprised because this straight really is the bomb. I have 80 shaves and only once refreshed it on my pasted strop. I am shooting for 100 before I decide to refresh or hone on my films. Time will tell.
Splashed on the matching aftershave for an extra menthol hit. I am glad that this shave went well because it's my tribute to my friend Alex. I saw and spoke to him last Tuesday night at a Christian lecture and he unexpectedly was found dead by his wife the next day. I will be attending the wake this evening. We are not promised tomorrow so make the best of every day while we are above ground. Take care.

Another super close shave with the TI. I have begun to notice an issue with this soap upon application to the face that does not occur back at home. Following whipping up a nice thick lather in the bowl the lather begins to disappear once it is applied to the face. Perhaps there is a significant difference in the hardness of the water here.

Regardless I managed a close and irritation free shave. Let’s hope for better application points tomorrow.
