Took advantage of the Maggard's July 4th sale (on till 11:59 tonight). Three 24mm two banded badger knots for two butterscotch Simpsons and a butterscotch Plymouth brush.
Just bought this with the case for under $50 shipped. Because I like the FB? No, because I love a good before/after challenge.
A Fatboy in working order with the case, in most cases, would put it right at 50 bucks or more, depending on how bad the buyer wants it and how clean it is. I bought it because it's filthy (but not for long).
I've seen cases alone, without blade dispenser or instruction sheet sell for between $25.00 and $30.00.
Yup, hopefully the plating is intact. I've seen a few like this over the years and still have no idea how somebody could let them build up with so much soap scum, hair, and cellular debris. I'm no neat freak but that's just ghastly. Had a 1950s flare tip that was so caked the knurling looked like somebody melted a brown crayon all over it.
Case appears intact but is going to need some work because of the yellowing. I may have to try the UV/H202 technique.
