I just came home about an hour ago because I was at a church picnic from 10 am to 5:15 pm at Wildwood State Park. It's about 15 miles east of me. I had a good time.

Anyway, this week I will just be using my Rockwell Synthetic Brush. It is a great lathered so that why I chose it. I am trying to use up the Arko so I will use it a few times this week. I needed to do a headshave and a faceshave so I made sure that I made enough lather.

    20230708_185457.jpg

Did a 3 pass headshave and a 3 pass face and neck shave for a very close and comfortable shave. There wasn't any red liquid being lost and no irritation as well. The alum feedback was negligible all the way around. Splashed on the Capt Choice North aftershave for a great end to the session. Btw, this is the first time that I used it. It is a light, clean scent. I like it. Unfortunately, the matching soap is unobtainable. I won this aftershave in a you tube raffle. Take care.

I just returned from a camping vacation to Yellowstone NP. 6 days. Shaved twice. Pre-War Tech, Derby Shave Stick, Astra Blade, synthetic brush. Suitable for outdoor adventures for sure. I miss that old razor when I don't use it daily. Never a nick or weeper. I ought to bring it out of the Dopp kit and use it more often!

    Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Asda Sea Salt & Fennel Extract Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Pears with Mint Extracts Transparent Bar Soap.
    Brush: Frank Shaving 22mm Synthetic.
    Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Haslinger Aloe Vera Shaving Soap.
    Blade: Personna Comfort Coated. (D2)
    Razor: Parker 87R.

    Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Brut Attraction Totale ASL./ Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

    A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

The Haslinger Aloe Vera shaving soap provided a superb lather I have two Haslinger soaps Schafmilch Sheep Milk & Aloe Vera the only difference with the Aloe Vera soap is it doesn't contain lanolin and like the Schafmilch Sheep Milk has a very faint clean fragrance when wet.

If you like a shaving soap with a strong fragrance, then you will be disappointed with Haslinger soaps ,as both soaps have a mild unique fragrance which will put some people off using.

My personal opinion though is both soaps are exactly the same in performance, slickness protection & post shave feel which for me is the most important thing in a shaving soap or cream....As always opinions are very subjective. YMMV.

Each and every shave that I've had with the Parker 87R the results have been excellent today was no exception.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

    Beard ~ 30 hours
    Prep = usual
Soap = Col Conk Bay rum: I had used this once before not impressed. Turned out OK today, bit thin. I had this stored in an old wooden (string?) box, unfortunately some of the wood colour/stain/whatever slightly tinted the soap: binned the wooden box
Brush = Omega 49, I like this more and more
    Bowl = Timeless
Razor = Fatip Lo Storto OC slant
Blade = Treet Platinum. I had read elsewhere these are easier to align in the Fatips. Still slightly asymmetric but it did the trick
Three passes plus touch ups. No damage. Minor left-overs here and there, not keen to push the Slant OC with a new blade, still a DFS
Post = usual post clean-up/Brut ASL. No scent, off to hospital again

    Wishing you all wonderful Sunday

I had not noticed the Captain’s Choice AS before in your rotation. I have tried a couple of samples of their soaps, nice lather. I would considered trying their Venture aftershave.
Scent profile: “The multiple layers of this scent are not only well-balanced but inspirational as a whole. First, a hint of pineapple followed by a foundation of bergamot and jasmine - so refreshing.”
You might like it. Great shave Joe.

    SRS # 918 - French Themed Shave # 8

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
Lather: Pre de Provence No. 63
Aftershave: Pre de Provence No. 63 Aftershave Balm
    Additional Care:
Pre de Provence No. 63 EdT
    Omega Alum
Perhaps final French Themed shave of trip using the TI as tomorrow is a travel day. I may use the the Parker SRX Shavette for time efficiency.

Another fine shave with the TI. Three passes of an irritation free result. As I stated yesterday the PdP soap is not a slick as the Stirling soaps but a very nice scent.

We are on our way via the Paris subway system, much cleaner than NYC’s, to the Grevin Wax Museum, something Anthony is interested in seeing.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hey Troy! It's been a long time since you visited here. I have never been to Yellowstone NP. However, I am sure the pictures that I have seen don't do it justice. Great shave. Don't be a stranger. Take care.

Thanks Joe. The Capt. Choice North aftershave has been in my den a couple of years. I never used it because I didn't have the matching soap. I decided to use it because my Arko doesn't have any scent. I will use it with my other soaps that are very lightly scented or have lost there scent.
