    Well, I didn't light my face on fire with the Agadir this morning, but good reason-the temperature outside was dropping. Raining hard. Fine job all over on the shave. 2 passes. Goose eggs for the Cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I smell kinda "Oud Woody" today. :) As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #466
    5/8 Dovo Best Quality
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    The Shave Den Irish Spring SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

    20230710_170045.jpg

    I decided to use my Dovo BQ straight today because I have not used in since this past May. I also went with TSD Irish Spring soap. Although it's on the bottom of my list as far as scent strength, it does make a nice slick lather.

    20230710_170603.jpg

    Did 3 passes for a very nice, close comfortable shave without any mishaps.
    The alum gave feedback, but it was just above minimum. Splashed on the matching aftershave to finish this session. Take care.

    Thanks Gary. I took my time with this shave by being more meticulous and hitting small areas in a different way..

    30 hours, early evening shave after a long day
    Prep = Early evening shower, Hot water soak 30s x 1, Proraso white prep
    Soap = Proraso green
    Brush = Omega 49
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Merkur 37C, second day in a row, after being impressed yesterday
    Blade = Treet Platinum (1)
    Three passes plus touch ups. Temporary weeper Rt lower neck
    Post = usual post clean-up, Proraso Rinfrescante and AS balm
    Scent = none: trying to get off to bed early

    The 37C still felt safe in the hand. Getting to work out the J-jook angles for my tricky areas on the left side of my neck
    I don’t think having a warm shower was better prep than my usual Hot Water Soaks for 30 seconds
    The Treet blade did not feel so sharp as yesterday’s one: maybe it doesn’t cope with 1 ½ days growth?
    I certainly needed much more buffing and “work” to achieve a good result. Still missed some “easier” spots because time and focus was needed on my tougher spots
    I binned the blade after its first use, will need to try a different blade in the 37C
    I like this setup and plan to stick with it for a few more days, getting used to the soap and the razor, but will try a different blade or two I think…

    Happy Tuesday everyone

    Terrific shave Barry. I get a kick out of my inexpensive shave setups too. In fact, I am planning on doing a shaving session with one late this week. Have a splendid afternoon.
