  1. Dogs at a Farmer's Market. Reminds me of one of my many father-son walks to a local market to get the newspaper and perhaps other stuff(I was the son-probably around 4 or 5). Someone was there with his dog, and suddenly a truck carrying donuts pulled up so many that some fell off the truck, and the dog had himself a nice breakfast snack. I think he knocked back three or four. Funniest thing I had ever seen. I still chuckle when recalling it.

    Day Eight (I think...:signs002:)
As you can see, the donut hole is ever-expanding.
The Semogue 50-50 Badger/Boar made short work of the load and lather...:signs002: new "catch phrase", perhaps?)
Last shave with the Feather. Good, but 10 years in traditional wet-shaving has taught me a thing or two.
Got a few weepettes on the neck...nothing that the Royall Lyme couldn't alleviate.
  3. I don't like to brag, but I have a donut truck named after me. And, of course, ice cream is available.

Donuts are secured during severe weather, as well as prior to and during vehicle movement.

  4. I bet @jtspartan would like to have this donut truck, a fine example of understated Canadian elegance, named after him.

  5. ...and wouldn't you know it? @Primo up and went all artsy on his donuts?

I completed shave # 80 using the Stirling Arkadia, and the donut hole continues to expand slowly. I'm guessing there are ~20 shaves remaining on the puck, assuming I continue with my Goldilocks lathering method. The soap is great, but I'm ready to be done with it.

I reverted back to daily shaving, and the Gillette Red Tip has performed wonderfully. I'm on the verge of 3017ing bottles of Fine L'Orange Noir aftershave and Thayer's Witch Hazel. I'm down to ~20 Astra SP blades and will continue until they are gone. They are very good blades, in my experience.

I spotted what appeared to be a nearly NOS gold-plated Valet Auto Strop razor in the box at a local antique shop. I know nothing about these razors, but it was priced at $20 which seemed fair. What took my eye, though, was the Bigelow Parkin folding safety razor laying in the box too. I'm guessing $15 would get 'em both. I'm somewhat tempted.

I'm keeping tabs on my weight and exercise while I'm on the road. I'm down 18 lbs, with about 12 remaining. Rochester is a very walkable town, and we've been logging plenty of steps each day. The big highlight of our trip, however, is that my Bride's medical news has been good so far. We have a few more appointments before we head back to the hills.

Murphy's Law showed up back home, however. We apparently had a water leak in our lawn irrigation system. I got a couple of high-usage alerts before having the water shut off at the meter. We're thankful that the leak was not inside the house. :)

Well, that's the news from Lake Wobegon. I hope you all are having a fantastic week.
  9. Almost forgot. I 3017'd a puck of Midnight Stag shave soap. I'm not at liberty to share particulars, but I can confirm that no donut trucks were involved, and people called me Smokey for few days.

  10. Andrew! Looks like I missed your return. Awesome to hear from you, and it looks like the family is growing.
  11. That is very, very good news, Charlie!
  12. I only bring it out for road trips…
  13. Day 6
Back home after an extended weekend away. This soap focus will not be quick, it appears.
Today’s hardware choice came after seeing @Linuxguile s post. Both the MonoBilt and this last vintage Spoiler came courtesy of a trade with Andrew.

  16. 'Bout tome for me to get back to 3017ing. I'm thinking this mystery stick is next. It's either Arko or Derby I'm pretty sure. I don't remember why the label is gone.

  17. That’s great news Charlie.

  19. Thank you Jason! Grew, and is done growing... Except the boys are growing like weeds!
    I am honored!
