Hiya Paul, Aaahh yes I do, and I plan to work my way through all the A's too;)

Thanks Joe, as you say there are more ways than one to achieve good results. Minimal damage, optimal results and an enjoyable no-stress shave are worthy goals.

it shaves on a slightly different angle than the earlier ones.a touch more blade feel.same as my brit late rocket version from 1965.i always get really close shaves with it.even though these aren't the best/shiniest plated flaretips the give the best shaves imo.the brit rocket version was around in your neck of the woods.made in england, with u.s style end caps.

Awesome shave and setup Gary. I guess the Gillette ad came from a magazine that's no longer in existence.

I don't know that I'll get another Zingari Man unless I see a discount or two. But Explorer will be around for quite a while.

I am dedicating this shave to my late father who passed on this date 13 yrs ago. I decided to use an old-fashioned Schick Injector and with another one of my favorite lavender soaps. I was debating on using my Fatboy because I remember that he shaved with a Gillette razor, but I went with this setup instead. I just like this razor because it is mild, but efficient. Here's today's lather:

Two passes on the face and neck plus 3 passes on the dome for a nice, clean, crisp and comfortable shave without any incidents. Slight alum feedback on my neck, but there wasn't any on the rest of my shaved areas. Witch hazel and matching aftershave to finish my post shave ritual.

Thanks Gary. I remember when you shaved with your Shick. It is definitely a nice one. Now, I never tried the modern SE razors like the Supply, OCCam, Parker, etc. I believe OCCam razors are no longer made. Schick razors are underrated. I won both my Schick's here and they have given me good shaves. I bet they can at least be as efficient as the modern SE razors.

i would think so,but not used any either,so just speculating.i have now got a canadian e-2,e-3,g-4 "66" and the i-1.i did have an i 2 hydromatic but passed it along.they are great shavers, but i am limited to the Chick blades which work well enough.:)not bothered to go further blade wise for the frequency in which i use them.;)

Great shave, Joe! I always wondered what the Minions of Shaving looked like.... and now I know.

    Great shave and pic, Chris!

And I agree with Joe: the object of this whole exercise is to achieve a cleanshaven face / head - or a neatly trimmed beard if that's your aim - without any accompanying pain, blood, nicks, ingrown hairs or razorburn. However you manage that is up to you.

I used electrics for years but always had some skin problems when doing entire daily shaves with them. When I tired of always having patches of razorburn, I switched to DE and later injector wetshaving instead. But I am not a wetshaving "purist". As far as I am concerned, if I notice that I missed a few stray whiskers or a small patch of stubble when I check the mirror after I have finished the main shave, then a quick zip with the electric to fix the small problem areas is perfectly in order.

Great shave, Gary! I have a set of Barrister Reserve Lavender that I have never used. I shall have to get that into this month's "Artisan" lineup...
