    Terrific shave Gary. Sticks take a long time to be completely finished. How much do you have left. If it's 3/4 done, then it may go into mid 2024.

    Thus is my next soap to be completed within a week or so. I love the Cryogen experience and I am afraid that when I try another hyper mentholated soap that the intensity will not be as great or enjoyable. Here's today's lather:

    Did a 3 pass error- free shave that was a bit shy of BBS. This blade has lost some of it's sharpness and so I didn't need to chase BBS this session. The alum feedback was only on parts of the neck. Finished with the application of the witch hazel and the AQ Ice Blue aftershave. Take care.

    OK, it can(should)only be done at the jawline. It's very much like how we attack ice on our cars, difference being whereas we go south to north on our cars we go the opposite way with our razors at the jawline. It could be troublesome indeed if we use tooo much force.

    (Adjustable
    , Arko August, Artisan August, Anything goes, Adapting-Adjusting-on-the-fly August)

    48 hours early AM shave

    10 Aug 2023.jpg

    Prep = COLD water soak 30secs x 3, Proraso white preshave
    Soap / Cream = time to bring out the old Arko again
    Brush = Puro Tasso Boar, now getting really soft, maybe better for face lathering at this stage
    Bowl = Timeless, perfect lather
    Razor = Adjustable Merkur Progress set at a fixed 2 - 3
    Blade = Gillette Platinum (2) served me well on day 2, binned this anyway, no point in pushing my luck
    Passes = 3 + clean ups
    Technique = WTG, ATG, then XTG in troublesome areas with buffing. Able to scoot around the chin a whole lot better with this setup
    Post = cold water rinse, Alum was negligible, Thayers, Brut ASL (trying hard to finish this)
    Scent = Proraso Cypress and Vetyver Cologne, nice and refreshing, probably better for summer though, but it did linger until late in the day
    Damage = None
    Leftovers = right side of neck, but negligible
    Score = 9.8/10
    Comments = A joyful relaxing DFS with no redness or damage. Smoother than usual: must be the Arko, (or the cold water), ((or the Merkur Progress)), (((or the Gillette Platinum))) or all of the above.....

    Hope you are all having a great Thursday.....

    Awesome Arko shave Chris! I find that Arko is very slick and always have given me great shaves because of it.
