August 11, 2023 Cobra Classic Kai Captain Protouch MG (9) Paladin SV Felce Aromatica Shave Soap & Aftershave Happy Friday Everyone. Another morning with thunderstorms rolling through. I decided to pull out a rarely used razor, the Cobra Classic. Honestly I love the way it shaves but it's so good looking I am afraid I will screw it up. This think gives a close and smooth shave. I am off to the hospital this morning. My nephew, 29 years old, is having heart surgery later today. He was born with a heart issue likely inherited from my sister. Now it requires intervention. I am in search of my next 3017 target so this week I will use some candidates soaps. The criteria are; Are further enough along that I can finish it within 50 shaves. Enjoyable enough that I don't mind using it work days, weekends and holidays I will go for some variety. It is not a soap I will feel the need to buy another, the object of my 3017 is to thin the absurd amount of spoaps in my den. I hope everyone has a wonderful and cool weekend. I used the MdC Fougère for a couple shaves this week. I added some liquid lanolin and menthol, this is an awesome soap and awesome scent... but... it fails two criteria, it will take forever to finish and I will definitely order a replacement. Today I used another favorite, PAA CK-6 formula Awesome Sauce. This one fails becasuse the tub is still more than 90% full due to my earlier 3017. This one smells like Proraso so it is a warm weather soap for me.

Beautiful shave tools, Keith. I just completed my 89th consecutive shave (with a few more to go) using the same puck of Stirling Arkadia. I'll also set some parameters on my next 3017 to allow for some variety. I'm also 3017ing aftershaves, stanks, and blades. I've knocked out a couple of aftershaves so far this year, and I'm about to use up my supply of Astra SP DE blades. I was making good progress on my den thinning this year until I purchased those 12 pucks of tallow Kent (MWF) soap. And fearing the MWF bath soap would also eliminate tallow, I found a good deal on Amazon and purchased 24 bars. I store all my MWF products in a cool area in the basement, and the scent in our downstairs TV room reminds me of summers spent in the Cotswold Hills.
You fellers always rock some beautiful gear. I enjoy following along on your 3017's. Clint, please let us know how your nephew is doing.
89 consecutive shaves, that is true commitment. I shared the same tallow free scare but for Tabac. Thank you for saving me from the shave apocalypse.

August 12, 2023 Cobra Classic Kai Captain Protouch MG (10) Shavemac Beagle SV Felce Aromatica Shave Soap & Aftershave Happy Saturday Everyone! Another great shave this morning with the "Snake". This little Beagle brush has some serious backbone and scrub giving me a nice wake up call. The SV soap continues do go down at a good pace showing through at the center. I will need to move some from the edge to fill in the hole. Take care and have a great day.
