Companies have done some “ interesting” things in the past.
It has been a while but I remember someone reaching out to Maher & Grosh about that, and they basically said it was a marketing thing to take advantage of the thoughts of the time.

It would still be interesting to run a Geiger Counter over it. I wouldn't trust the word of a company on this matter.

    Saturday Straights' Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    Old Spice Original Shave Cream
    Tom's B400 Two-band Badger
    Wade & Butcher 5/8
    CWR
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Clubman Lilac Vegetal

The Old Spice Original Shave Cream lathered well with Tom's B400 Two-band Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the Wade & Butcher 5/8 straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and then Clubman Lilac Vegetal. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This is another razor that I haven’t picked up in a long time. I tried to sell it and some other 5/8ths years ago as I have too many of them. Today it came back into rotation with a fine shave :happy036:

That’s a tough call. A classic Filly is, well, classic - always satisfied with both of mine. However, the Iberia is also a stellar shave. I’d say see what’s available and at what price and pick whatever you like the best. You’ll be happy with either :happy093:

Note: @Steve56 is very well informed on Filly’s and I’m sure he’d let you know if one you’re considering is something to stay away from :happy088:

I have kept an eye out for a nice Iberia, over the last few years. They are more scarce than the Filarmonicas, and can be every bit as expensive. I remember somewhere that the Iberia might have used Fili Blanks.
