hearing about and seeing this dilemma with the zeniths quashed any desire to go further and acquire one.they are harder to get here in canuxckville.
I have bought them over the years without this issue. They still work fantastic with little effort to break in but the brushes look like they are having a bad hair day.
Day 16 Barbasol Floating Head w Astra SP TGN Finest/ Maple Asylum/SV Colonia combo Thayers I had a nice run with the Floating Head. It is mos def (copyrighted north of the 49th, @Primotenore ) not a daily driver for me. You always have to be alert with Mrs. Barbasol/Conrad.
Continuing the search for my 3017 target. DR Harris' Arlington is an excellent scent and the cream is a good performer. It is far enough along that it is contention for the next target. The performance was bit below par so it will need another test shave to enter the contest. The TOBS 'Luxury' shaving cream is low enough to be a contender, it has a classic 'cologne' scent and the performance was more than acceptable. It is in the lead to be the next target. Two shave in one picture. Shave 1: Razo Rock The Freedberg, Zenith boar, Eau Sauvage and Cobra Classic: I like the scent, performance and it is low enough to enter the contest. Neck and neck with the TOBS. Shave 2: Musgo Real cream, Paladin brush and Filarmonica 13 finished with generous splash of Poraso: This is a really old tube, from my early days of wet shaving... maybe that is why the performance was horrible. On top of the poor lather performance I cut myself. The only thing this tube of Musgo is entering is the garbage bin.
August 17, 2023 Cobra Classic Kai Captain Protouch MG (14) Mr EE LE #004 SV Felce Aromatica Shave Soap & Aftershave This week is flying by very quickly. Happy Friday Jr (aka Thursday)! Another excellent shave with the "Snake" this morning. I decided to trash the blade after the shave this morning. I probably could have gotten 1 or 2 more shaves with it but I decided there was no need to push things. Take care and have a great day everyone.
Wonder what happened to Evan? He made some beautiful brushes and I regret not having taken up his offer to make me one...
I miss his posting as well. I recall saying that his son had an interest in competitive shooting. Evan was a ranked competitor and was taking his son's interest as a way to spend more quality time with him. I hope he is doing well. I agree, his brushes are very nice. I am happy I took him up on the offer.
